Just Remember JR was the one that wanted to keep Rivera.

We might have been the ones with Chip Kelly if not for JRs move to keep Rivera under all circumstances even if he was part of the old Hurney system that did not work. Now we are setting out yet another season lookng to the draft and hoping at some point the nightmare of Rivera's coach career to be over. There was a reason no one wanted him as a HC and there is a reason we are still sub .500 most seasons. JR needs to let DG take control with his own plan and see where it leads us because we are going no where like we are.

Dave has taken control.....

Gross, 89, the over emphasis on DL while neglecting the rest.........Dave is in control.

It could be a ploy to tank the season and fire Rivera. Who knows? All I know is Rivera does not help himself out much on game day.

When did we have absolute confirmation this was Richardson's decision?

Link please.

Gettleman did not have any input on the decision to retain Rivera. In fact, the two men never met until last week.

It was on Gettleman for extending him, but we had just won 12 games.  Couldn't have seemed like such a bad idea at the time.

Gettleman was the GM for an entire year before Rivera signed his 3 year extension was he not?

Well like I said, that year we won 12 games.  He obviously didn't want to have another Fox scenario of the "lame duck coach".  I'm not saying it was the right move, especially in hindsight, but it's not a decision I would hold against him.  The logic is there.  He didn't have a choice initially.  Ron should have been fired after the same year Hurney was and Gettleman should have been allowed to choose a coach.

    • Tua has maybe 2 passes further than 5 yards.
    • I'd give the rookie WR's more credit than that. Bryce did actually earn most his yards against the Chiefs, but that Saints game was all rookie WR's yac. It was probably like 80ish of the 170 total passing yards were yac by JT and Coker. The throws have been accurate though and he's obviously playing with more confidence. I still want to see something over 40 yards in the air at some point that looks good/accurate
    • We’ll agree to disagree.  Maybe change my wording to better roster would have been more accurate. Gamecocks have some nice defensive players….but they are also thinner than Clemson all around.  it’s at Clemson.  Dabo.  Better overall roster.  And they are favored slightly….which essentially supports my prior post that either could win but if you had to pick without a dog in the race Clemson is the smarter pick.   straight up vs Carolina? I trust Clemson’s O more than Carolina’s.    Top 10 vs top 60 with the QB edge.  And Clemson’s D has some real studs on it too.   Which is what Vegas says.   I’ll make my pick game day.  Will depend on who can and can’t suit up for Clemson.  Carolina has been much healthier this year.  But ST could be the difference.  That Louisville game exposed some massive flaws in their kick game.  You don’t really want ST weakness showing itself vs Beamer
