Cam is Vick 2.0

Bama Panther

Recommended Posts

I'll give Cam one more year. The Oline is terrible. He is coming off surgery ,but with that said it is his fourth season. He has to learn to put touch on the ball. This season offensive debacle is not all on Cam. I'm not sure Peyton Manning could do much with this line. It is hard to be patient.

He's a Ben Roethlisberger clone. Not sure why everyone wants to compare black QBs to other black QBs.

I see Roethlisberger too. However, I don't recall Big Ben being viewed as a game changer like Cam and Vick. He was drafted to a solid team which definitely didn't happen for Cam.

The reason I namely mentioned Vick is my first point: the way the fanbase has splintered. That is highly comparable to what happened with Falcons fans. I use Vick (over Young, McNabb, etc) because of the hype and expectations that accompanied the athletic ability and the things that followed. That's all.

More like David Carr.

He's been knocked around so much I'm starting to fear he's being ruined.

Sorry but if he's like Carr after just a half season then he's mentally weak. He's not the first QB to have a bad Oline and other quarterbacks have stood in there and not become gun shy, especially not this quickly. Rodgers has been sacked 50 times two different seasons.

You can't tell me this isnt a race related.

Oh Lord. Shut your keyboard off. This is not race related at all. Cam has the ability to be a fantastic quarterback. Ed just not doing it right now. I'm just wondering why and trying to start a conversation. At this point in Cam's career, I see similarities in the athletic ability and the potential of those abilities.

I also see an organization hitching everything to Cam as the Falcons did with Vick. When I say that, I mean on the field, not anything else as I don't know what happens off the field. The Panthers need to grow Cam as a QB while at the same time growing the rest of the team for occasions that Cam is not having a great day, which is expected of every QB in the NFL.

Some of you guys take this stuff way too seriously.

So give Cam weapons and he will succeed?

Why do you people continue to have the notion that Cam will automatically become successful if he gets some weapons? I'm not saying that it wouldn't help, but he still would need to accurately throw the ball and read defenses, which he still doesn't do. Drafting Kelvin and his height has proven that it doesn't matter who you get, Cam has throwing problems that still have not progressed. He still overthrows Kelvin, and I am quite sure he would still overthrow or misplace the ball with anybody we bring in.

Also, why do NFL fans (continue) to throw dirt on McNabb? He went to several NFC title games and a Super Bowl with garbage.

I was thinking the same thing when some posters mentioned McNabb in response to this thread. He did everything he could to try to win championships for the Eagles and he almost did.

But Cam isn't Aaron Rogers. He is Cam. A damn good QB that you can win a SB with. We won't win if he has garbage around him.

Cam has been hit more times within one yard of the line of scrimmage than any other QB since he came into the NFL, and he's more than double the next closest.
