No longer a conspiracy

Actually if it's 'no longer a conspiracy' then that means it's just the work of one person.

I think what you meant to post is it's 'no longer my pet fan theory'. That's incorrect too hth.

Took you long enough, I was starting to think you didn't care anymore

As I mentioned in the post above, it isn't about right now. It's about what he didn't do up to this point when jt was clear there was a problem.

And seriously Scot, you're watching this team and thinking we would have to go all the way up to an all-pro to make it an upgrade? LOL.

Signing somebody who's unemployed right now isn't an upgrade.  Most of them have had multiple trouts and the teams all passed.  One or two have been signed and then let go.

It's not just us that doesn't want them.  It's everybody.

There's no salvation this season.

Not at this point, no. But when you have average joe fan saying that we can't go into a season with Bell and Chandler as the tackles and then we do just that... There is a problem.

He actually kept a guy on the active 53 who never played a snap of American football in his life, lol. He never brought in competition for the OL or the receiving unit after the draft.

It just presents a lot of questions. "Why?" being the most obvious.

What you're seeing is the doing of JR. Gettleman walked into a team in cap hell, so personnel moves weren't going to be plentiful to begin with. To top it all off he doesn't even give him a clean slate to work with re: the coaching staff. It's one of the biggest goofs an owner can make to force your new GM to have to make a decision like that from the get go. So he keeps Ron and then they have to replace their offensive coordinator. Now he's competing with Ron's influence because he's only been there for a week. Lo and behold Mike Shula is promoted.

Gettleman's had to spend the last two years cleaning up the mess that was already set in motion years ago. Usually teams give their GM more creative control but he's been in control of very little.

Nor would I expect such at this point. Again, three weeks ago, guys hadn't been sitting home for 9 weeks. Or five weeks ago... Or coming into the season...

The point is, he did nothing and stubbornly stuck with what he already had. His idiom of "the answer is already on the roster" now reeks of arrogance.

And again, looking at what we have on the roster, no one can convince me that there isn't something better out there, even right now.

To be clear though, I'm talking about what should have been done... It doesn't matter at this point because the season is over, but people do need to be fired tomorrow to at least show they give a crap.

I give you that about the staff... I was unhappy about that when it went down. He should've fired Rivera when he was hired. Knute Rockne's corpse wouldve taken last season's team to where they went, and possibly further.

That being said, what we're seeing now is less about coaching and more about personnel.
