Gantt made some good observations in this morning's practice, many of which people on this board are already talking about. Marlon Favorite is getting more reps. Wesley has moved into the safety role to see how versatile he is.

favorite was in the mix with the 1s last week when i was there. not sure why that wasn't the case on monday night but this is not something that is brand new...just more apparent now that the spotlight is even more on that hayden/DT spot.

Hayden was my hopeful breakout player this year. Dose not look like Im gonna get my wish. The sad thing is he lost weight this off-season only to be put in the run stuffer gap. He is def no run stuffer thats for sure.

I guess they wanted to give Hayden a chance in a game situation, he failed and it was his spot to lose. I thought Favorite got good penetration on run plays and Irvin on pass plays. They might can ball, I'm not holding my breath tho.

Interesting idea with Wesley at safety, Fox starting to "slightly" think out the box a bit. Gotta be conservative with roster spots, especially since we have Kasay AND Lloyd, kinda a bad time to keep two kickers.

    • I am still not sure he is the guy. But 263 yards and more importantly, 27 points,  against one of the best defenses in the NFL with relatively little support from the run game and a mostly young raw receiving corps is better than just ok.   While overall I thought Canales did a good job today, I do think we should have run the ball a little more in the red zone.  Six first qtr plays in the red zone, 1 run, 5 passes.  I know KC has an excellent run defense, but still got to balance it out a little better.   In the second half, when in the red zone, they had 4 passes and five runs, and scored td's two of the three red zone trips.
    • I will have to look for more of his content.
    • The problem is, pass rushers go in the first round.  That's what we need the most.  The success rate after the first round has a huge drop off.
