We Cant Pay Cam $20 Mil

I have been saying this for over a month now. You are absolutely correct. You do not pay an inconsistent QB that kind of money. Trade him for a buttload of draft picks and rebuild. It will take more than erratic Cam to build a winning team. Take the Cardinals for example. They have been playing with Stanton and Palmer all season and they are 8-1. Cam is an average passer that is replaceable. This ain't Luck we are talking about. This is an average passer that is inconsistent.

You're comparing the panthers to the cardinals lol. They are a real team with a real coach. We're not, we have a practice squad and no coach!

He's not worth the kind of money he's gonna require. Trust me, this performance rests on a lot of other's shoulders, but he's just not worth elite money

You're right..... that's why he'll be collecting somewhere along those lines with another team.

Unless Cam Newton has some kind of sado-masochistic desire to be a punching bag for opposing defenses, there is absolutely no reason for him to stay in Charlotte.

If Cam is going to continue to rot here, why do you guys want to keep him around just to see it happen?  If Gettlemen is the problem, he's not going anywhere.  If you're looking for an offensive genius in the coaching staff, history says that is probably not going to happen.  Cam's career might just be doomed here.  Just like it was for Sanchez in NY.  Why not trade Cam and get the most out of him, because we sure aren't going to get anything out of him being sacked to death here.

That's a perfect example of what I'm trying to say. You need more than a QB to win games, which is why I said trade Cam for a buttload of picks instead of overpaying for an average QB. With those picks, we could rebuild everywhere instead of wasting our money on an unproven QB. Then (like the Cardinals), we wouldn't need an all star QB to lead us, just somebody that can make accurate throws and manage the game, like a Carson Palmer.

Saying cam doesn't deserve his money is ludicrous. This is one of the worst offensive lines in nfl history, not just our team, the entire leagues history. It's absolute poo. I'm an average height weight speed white guy and I could've got passed three of our linemen last night. They're either too damn dumb to understand the protections, they is ply don't care anymore, or they're worse than most college offensive lines. Cam was having his best year as a "passer" at the start of the season. Making throws he wasn't making in previous year, faster reads, smarter decisions. If this team tries to lowball cam because of this season, I hope to god Cam says peace out and goes and gets his worth behind a FO he will help him, an offensive line who will block for him, and a fan base that isn't the rampant garbage pile of over reactionary pansies that is our fan base.

No QB is until we fix our god awful football club.  Put money in the Oline, Dline, Secondary, and WR's, and let an ok qb look better then a 20 million dollar qb because he has those things.

Right now we pay Cam the 20 million and we'll keep seeing what we're seeing tonight because we can't afford to put a decent team on the field.  It's not an indictment on Cam...just we can't afford to give him that contract and expect to greatly improve our football team as it is today.

paying cam 20 million isn't going to hurt this franchise. What's hurting our franchise now is the 80 million dollars worth of running back contracts that we can't get out of. If even have of that money was invested into the O-line and secondary, we would be much better off

I know that's whats hurting the team man.  I completely agree with you.  It's because of Hurney were even having this debate about Cam.  That's why I said if we resigned Cam to that big contract regardless of if he deserves it or not we would NOT be able to AFFORD to put a decent team around him primarily because of the awful Hurney contracts.  Any follower of the huddle knows this.
