That's called "faith" or "optimism." What you're saying is he needs to believe there's going to be one and that he's going to get a few seconds before having to dodge the body of one of his own linemen so he can be ready to make the throw when it unexpectedly presents itself.

But no QB  should have to dodge your own dang olinemen because they're getting manhandled by the defensive line. They are really our of their league right now.
