No matter the statistics someone will make the playoffs ( Saints or Panthers) and play a home game.  Anything can happen.

 

But yeah that does suck though...

All of these definitive statements of "all time" backed by shoddy stats doesn't mean much to me. At one point I read an article where the Carolina Panthers were the worst team to make it to the Super Bowl "of all time" based on the number of Pro Bowlers we had that season. I'm sure the Cowboys had 9 Pro Bowlers that season, we still kicked their ass.

 

Every season, every week, every decade is unique. You just have to appreciate ineptitude or success in the moment and not try to make grandiose claims about it. 

 

Let's start with the most obvious. Divisions were realigned in 2002. So "of all time" actually means since 2002. The rest is pretty obvious, mainly that who and were you play is a big factor. The NFC North is having a good year and they basically ran our division over. Credit to them, it was a bit of the perfect storm. All of the offensive lines in the NFC South are down this year via injury or stupidity. They took advantage of it.

The Saints are good enough to win 3 more out of division games. The Falcons have the Browns, Cardinals, Packers, & Steelers. Ouch! The Bucs might not win another game.
