Is winning out the season really "winning"?

Past champions have never advocated being underdogs, coming from behind to make an improbable run, being a cinderella story, or just getting into the playoffs where anything can happen.

It's always worth it to win because that means we won, we did what we had to do with the people we have. Furthermore, the people we have are thus capable of winning which means we don't have to go test out other people who may or may not have what it takes to win. Who cares how we win? Who cares how we get there? No athlete in any sport would ever look back on a win and really be upset things worked out for them to win. The Seahawks beat the Saints in the playoffs coming out of basically our division this year... I doubt anyone on that team regrets not winning more games to get there and knock off the reigning superbowl champs and honestly that game may have been the most memorable of that entire post-season.

The schedule is there to do it if we were decent; our playoff birth is likely at stake against the Saints because they keep leaving the door open for us. We will get doormatted by someone we arent expecting to be, probably Atlanta when they have nothing to play for; or Lovie Smith comes to Carolina and calls the game of his season to beat us 35-7 or something. He's definitely a better coach than Ron. It's not our year.

Would sign up for winning out right now though if I could. But it doesn't work that way.
