Hornets Vs Lakers Game Thread

Find me a single place where I said the Lakers were good? One place. One.

What I did, however, say, was that they aren't as bad as their winless record says they are. Reasons being that they completely gutted and rebuilt their roster, and they have a new coach. Those things take time to fall in to place. The Lakers won't be a playoff team, but they'll be close. They'll win at least 35 games this season.

They aren't a joke, trash, terrible team. They're mediocre and they'll win games because they have veteran savvy players in Kobe and Boozer, and they have average players that just happen to be shooters that can randomly go off and get hot in Lin, Wayne Ellington, and Wes Johnson. They'll beat some good teams this year, they just won't win enough.

YOU need to understand that just because you lose a game in the first 3 weeks of the season, you don't randomly start pissing and moaning about how an NBA Coach of the Year candidate hasn't done enough. He's a terrific coach. And if PJ Hairston deserved to play, he'd f*cking be playing. Period.

At this point in the season with a team that's been rebuilt, it's about gelling and forming an identity. Figuring out what you've got, and the best ways to use it.

Guess what the record after 7 games was for this team last year? 3-4!!!

So go outside and have a cigarette or something geez

Lol. Someone trying to get out of what they said.

Scanning through.... Scanning, scanning. Nope not reading.

Nope, don't smoke. Won't smoke. And it's midnight.

Stop being a child. It's advice you need to learn because all you do is respond like an 8 year old will an attention disorder. I have no reason to lie about anything I said, and to be honest, I never would've imagined someone getting mad over it. I guess it just doesn't pop up in my mind because I don't think of people caring enough to say that.

I wanted McDermott before, during, and after the draft and there are posts to prove it. I don't have the time to go digging up old threads, but if you want to, be my guest. Feel free to PM me for anything else, as the gamethread doesn't need to be hijacked by an irrelevant topic like this.

Nerlens Noel. Andre Drummond. Bradley Beal. Damian Lillard.

Hindsight 20/20

Meh. Not much to say. They got hot. It's happens. When I saw Sacre hit two fadeaways that Hakeem in his prime would struggle to hit, I said to myself, "it's just their night".

On to Portland. They are a mostly jump shooting team, just gotta hope to catch them on an off night.

Lance is getting paid too much to score 6 points. When your starting wings score combined 9 points what can you do?

He's not being paid to score. He's being paid to do a little bit of everything. There are no pure shooters in that starting five save for Al, who has to take up space.

That's a detriment to the starting five, but it's not what is going to doom them. They had the same issues last year and made the playoffs with less talent and depth. Heck, they looked to be in control of the first half.

The jet lag and overtime caught up with them in the second half. Also, credit the Lakers for throwing a zone look that the Hornets had not seen this year which seemed to turn the game in their favor. Also, they kept Al in check.

He's playing very much outside of his game right now. That was the appealing thing about Hayward is that he was going to give consistent effort within his game. I think Lance is more naturally talented, but he's not half the shooter. He needs to learn how to EARN his shots at the NBA level because the rest of his game is fantastic. He's a great rebounder, great passer, but he's not a great shooter. I can't even imagine how good this team would be had we landed Hayward instead. But I'll give Lance more than a few games before I say he's a bad fit, but he needs to listen to his coach more and play within himself instead of trying to earn a max contract in a couple years. A good night for Lance doesn't even really need to be 10 points if 10 points is all he sees. His defense and rebounding make him a plus player for his position. It's a bit tough though when you have a few wings who play the same style.

Lance has been pooing the bed scoring wise.

Kemba has been wildly inconsistent.

fml

Kemba was 7-11 shooting. He is a scoring point guard. That's a good game for him.

I'll gladly blame Kemba when he has a bad game, but this was not one of them.

On the flip side, Al went 10-23 with a -21. He is the offense. If he does not have a good game, it will be very difficult for us to beat anybody.
