Sports Illustrated first mock draft

Amari Cooper, WR

Junior, Alabama
At the risk of opening the door to Matt Millen jokes, the Panthers double down at WR, after using their 2014 first-rounder on Kelvin Benjamin. Plain and simple, they need much more help for Benjamin out wide. True, they also need multiple upgrades along the O-line, but this is a best-player-available case -- Cooper can be an NFL No. 1 and would give Carolina a reliable top option to pair with Benjamin's boom-or-bust game.

Love it.

Cooper is my dream pick but I just can't imagine him being there when we pick.

to get Cooper, we really need the Rams to finish ahead of us. Those guys are the biggest threat. Titans could draft him but they need help everywhere so it's a wildcard. Jets need help at WR but they'll probably rebuild completely and start with Mariotta.

Yup.

Titans most likely won't take Cooper since they already spent two high picks on Wright and Hunter. Their problem is a lack of QB. If the choose to not go with one, they will most likely be looking at Landon Collins or a pass rusher.

St. Louis is the only major threat to take Cooper atm. They might stick with Davis at QB for another year and wait till the 2nd for a QB. Tavon isn't a no1 WR so having a guy like Cooper will open that offense up a lot.

Let's hope that DGB choose to enter the draft. St. Louis may be better off going:

(1) Cook

(2) DGB

Knowing how Fisher tends to overlook trouble players in the past.

If you look at the Giants in all the years that DG was there, 1st round tackles are rare.  WR's, DE's, and secondary are more often the pick.

I want the line to be solidified more than anyone, but if I had to bet, I would say playmaker

The problem with the OT's is that they are being picked like QB's.  By that, I mean that they are over valued and drafted too high.  DG said as much last year.  He won't draft a guy rated as a second rounder with the 15 pick in the draft.  This happened last year with all the OT's going too early.  They have struggled this season also.

Santreal Henderson, a 7th rounder, has done better than all the first rounders from last draft in my opinion

Bah, G-man would have overlooked Matt Kalil.

Exactly.

I've said that for the last two years. NYG have a history of not drafting OTs in the 1st round.

Also, If you just look back at the past two drafts later round guys like Bakhtari and Henderson are outplaying a lot if these top picked OTs. I'm not saying that will go true for next year but you could still find solid OTs in the mid rounds.

If Cooper is there, you take him over any of the OTs available. I don't care who it is. Cooper should be the no1 pick in 2015 anyways.

I would go:

FA - Joe Barksdale, RT

Draft - (1) Cooper (2) Flowers / Sambrailo / best OT
