MIAMI -- Inactive Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy told ESPN.com on Friday that he's eager and hopeful to return to the Carolina Panthers this season.

"I want to play, man," Hardy told ESPN.com at Miami International Airport. "My team, you know, is losing right now. So I can't wait."

Isn't it really up to J.R.'s discretion? I was under the impression a player being put on the exempt list was voluntary by the team with the leagues approval. So at a whim, can he not be reactivated? This whole thing just SUCKS!
