Anyone need a job? NC people only...

Someone posts a job opening

It is immediately criticised

The douchebaggery in here knows no bounds.

danka.

I am involved in the call center business so I am always curious to see what the rates are and how they compare to the average.

It's better than most part time jobs thats for sure. At Home workers save companies quite a bit so I was surprised to see it below the average especially it being amazon.

Although this could also be a company different than Amazon, probably a staff management company, so probably same reasons or something.

i was thinking this too

one of my friends from college interviewed with amazon and from what he described it seems like their process is structured to weed out the weaklings.  certainly more difficult than what the OP described.

He's right though, not sure if it's tax reasons or other reasons but previously Amazon didn't have a real presense here in NC and I knew someone working for them in NOC stuff, he had to move to VA because he couldn't wfh from here.  Now I think Amazon has a warehouse here which is why they are probably open to it.

that's because Amazon is doing retail sales.  Rules are much stricter for retail.

It's probably a bit more when you factor in no gas or wear on a car.  Also the fact that this gives flexibility because it's WFH.  Then consider the hours saved per week of not sitting in a car in Charlotte traffic.

Its probably a bit less when you factor in Federal, state and possibly local taxes - then your isp connection isnt free. nor is the power to run your puter  and 2 monitors 8 hours a day and the affiliated wear and tear on your machine.  So you wind up netting what ?  Probably about $8 per hour if youre lucky?

For $20k a year you can live in a house with 4 roommates, take the bus to/from work, and never go out on the weekends. You're probably eating budget food and living paycheck to paycheck. That's no way to live and it's wrong. Minimum wage in the US should be $15 an hour.

And cost of nothing will increase..... makes sense. You don't deserve fifteen bucks an hour to shake grease off fries

I feel sorry for the young folks today with their very low expectations.  Hell I started out on a job fresh out of the navy close to 30 years ago making $ 12 hourly  plus some nice perks.  And I didnt need high speed internet access nor dress clothes,  though I did need a car to drive to work.  It wasnt great money even then though I was happy to get it.  How far does $20,000 a year go these days?

If your first job was the Navy, then its highly likely you were making a lot less than 10 bucks an hour, even including the free room/board and meals.

I started out working in a restaurant for 3.25 an hour in 1980.  I was 16, living at my parents house, and it was just spending money.  Got up to 5.50 an hour before I quit and joined the Navy (and took a pay cut to join). After I got out, I also got a higher paying position, in part based on my military experience.

Or, if you are a stay at home parent looking to supplement the family income....not bad to made $10 an hour and NOT have to pay for childcare.

I truly wish I could pie this more. I was a stay at home dad for a couple of years, working from home. The two months I had to leave town for work, child care was $150 more than our rent.

Serious question....Where do you get $15 from? Is it some random magical number? Did you see a picture on the internet of some dumbass holding a sign?

Do you think minimum wage is $15 an hour somewhere?
