Do you think we are better off with lance or Gordon Hayward.

Yeah Im hoping people don't take it the wrong way and realize that I'm not dissing lance. I was just curious about how everyone felt.

I've always liked heyward. But thought it was too much money for him. But I think he woulda fit like a glove.

Lance isn't playing great offensively but he's rebounding great and Makinh plays for teammates. I was kinda hoping with an upgraded role in charlotte he would up his ppg to something like 15-20. But I think he's the better value and player just hope he comes out of whatever he's in shooting wise.

Don't worry about it, I'm sure anyone with a brain understood that you weren't dissing Lance, but comparing the FA we wanted but got away to the one we did get. Knowledgeable Hornets fans are frustrated with how Lance has performed through the first five games but also realize that we have to allow time for this unit to mesh.

Emphatic opposition posts to any sensible threads using CAPS LOCK to express the rage should be ignored, but you know that.

We got Lance cheap and hes averaging 10 rebounds and nearly 6 assists as a SG. He can also handle the ball, drive into the paint, and create his own shot... the shots just arent falling. Hes not a superstar level player, but hes worth what we're paying him.

Either he just forgot how to make a basket or hes in a funk right now. Once he starts hitting some shots along with the rest of what he brings we'll have a steal of a contract.

Comparing Gordon returning to the Jazz vs. Lance joining the Hornets is not quite the same. Lance is having to adjust and he is struggling. He's shooting like 26% from the field and his career average is over 40 so over time I expect that to correct itself. He still doesn't look 100% physically and I kind of wish they would give him some time off if that is the case.

I think ultimately Gordon is a better shooter but Lance is better all around. Lance's rebounding has been a life saver for a team that struggles to score. Also Lance is on a short term deal that both parties can easily get out of if things don't work out.

The one thing I will say is that Gordon max deal would have looked much better with a raised salary cap.

as to date the answer to your question OP is: unknown

I was worried about Hayward, his 3p shooting was not good last year. If he continues on that trend Lance brings so many other things to the table

Oh and don't forget: Lance's contract is beautiful, Hayward would have been near max money

guys I don't want to be the bearer of bad news considering I'm a very positive fan, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for Curry. He is in such a good situation with Golden State

Idk man it seems kinda destined to be at this point. Steph lives on charlotte. His daddy was a loved charlotte hornet and still is. The hornets are back. Young talented players. He would be the biggest signing ever for this franchise and would instantly bc loved and most popular player around the city.

But with all that said we don't know Stephs wants and needs. He may not wanna come back. But all signs point to the homecoming. That's the trend nowadays. But I get where your coming from as we'll soja

I mean don't get me wrong I would LOVE for him to sign, seriously it would be incredible. But I could see him signing one more deal with GS then signing here in his late career.

Given Curry's game though he's going to play till he's 40

Literally the only one that added nothing. Just non sense.

It's something to talk about. And considering he was our first choice it is nice to discuss. Bc personal I was super pumped to have a chance at both.

And yes Hayward hit a game winning shot. That's not why I made this. But it did remind me we could have had him.

So instead of discounting everyone and Kemba. Why don't u get off your high horse and try to be slightly tolerable. K thanks

I asked him the other day when he would start posting at a high level. He insisted that he was. I've yet to see it.

Before you even think of getting down on Lance remember these two things

What we've been paying Ben Gordon the last two years

and

What the Orlando Magic are paying Channing Frye and Ben Gordon now

Stephenson's deal might be the best bargain of the offseason, considering some teams payed almost as much for role players and spot shooters.

    • Where did I once say we should draft him because he's a projected Top 5 pick?   That's one of my many problems with you, your reading comprehension skills are very poor (and/or you just don't care to use your brain, one of the two).  I solely used that to point out that me pushing T-Mac isn't some absurd homerism, that at least I'm pushing someone who is deserving of a Top 5 draft pick. And despite me explaining it to you numerous times, you still seem to not grasp how QB's get placed in mock drafts vs draft grades.  They are treated entirely different in mock drafts to any other position, because of how teams generally treat them in the draft because of how important the position is. Literally any other position except QB, mock drafts generally follow draft grades with some team needs factored in.  But with QB's, draft grades are generally disregarded and they ALWAYS put a few QB's at the very top of the draft, because that's just usually what happens.  The exact same thing happened in 2022 with guys like Pickett and Willis widely being Top 10 picks in mock drafts, only for Pickett to fall to what, around 20?, and Willis going in the 2nd round (and even being the 3rd QB if I remember correctly too). The overwhelming majority of draft experts are saying there isn't a high first round grade on these QB's, but they still get mocked there because they're trying to predict how the draft will actually go. That's been my point the entire time, reaching for a QB in a bad QB draft when you have a roster as depleted of talent as ours, does not tend to work out well. And I've never said I'm not open to other players, I've very explicitly said that if a QB or DE stands out come draft time, I'm open to that discussion.  That I'd be open to Hunter as a CB but I prefer a WR over a CB at the top of the draft.  But we're also not talking about the 15th pick here where there could realistically be all sorts of possible picks to discuss.  With the first pick, there really would only be a small handful of options, T-Mac is head and shoulders above any other given our current roster and state of the franchise in general.
    • TMac is good, but he isn't pick 1 on a WR good.  Last year he would be below Nabers and Williams.  This year you could argue Hunter is the better WR.  WR at 1 better be a Calvin Johnson not a WR that disappears some games in college...
    • So because he's a projected top 5 pick he's should be the guy we draft.   Yet you say the other 2 QBs who are projected top 5 picks are not worth it because you think they aren't that good.   That's my problem with you. You just seem to only care about Tmac. I have yet to see you suggest anyone outside of Tmac. At least I'm open to other prospects.
