Report: Greg Hardy's Panthers career likely over

What's worse, taking a chance on an extension or watching him eat Cam alive in a Falcons uniform?

Which would definitely happen, being that we don't have a LT

I often wonder if Cam would be better off if we didn't even put a body out there at LT. At least then he knows he must evade every down, instead of getting clobbered from his blind side every other down

only the most diehard ideologues and people still butthurt over this or that player being released don't at least sort of understand why hardy was franchised

watching this team's pass rush every sunday proves he was worth it

Since it is apparent we had no intent to either trade him or work out a long term deal, it basically came down to a 1 year rental for $13 million, making it a very questionable decision in my eyes. That is enough cap space for 3 to 4 mid level FA's.

It's not all about that.

It's about Hardy's long history of poor decisions and other things that are known. All of it adds up to him not being worth the risk.

And yet given the above, we were willing to guarantee him $13 million for this season, and give him part of it up front just to get him to attend voluntary work outs. I just don't get those saying it was a no-brainer decision at the time.

I'm not one buying the line that GH would have made an enormous difference in our defense. A significant impact, yes, no doubt. But $13 million worth? Can't see it.

Welp.................................This SUCKS if true

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000423273/article/report-greg-hardys-panthers-career-likely-over

I just went from thinking he could be back after the bye, to well, punching myself in the d7ck

Rivera just said Gettleman is going to contact the league office to inquire about Hardy's status... sure doesn't sound like we've moved on.

Most mid level FAs are going to expect deals that are longer then one year. So while the one year cost might be less then 13m the overall commitment would be more.

Also there is no way to know sure if we wouldn't have signed or traded him. I know some have reported that we never intended to but as we all know a lot of misinformation gets put out by teams.
