Some hard evidence why Shula needs to be fired now.

Fact:  Through the first 9 games of this season Shula's offense has scored more points than Chud's offense did through the first 9 games in 2012.  So if we didn't fire Chud why fire Shula??

Most people wanted Chud shitcanned in 2012.

And out of those first 9 games, only one was a blowout loss (Giants). Meaning that Chud had less time to score garbage time points like Shula has done vs Pittsburgh and Green Bay

There were 2 blowouts in the first 9 games of 2012.  The Giants loss and the Denver loss in week 10 since the bye was week 6.  And what was pitiful was that even in two blowout losses Chud's offense could only manage a total of  7 points in the fourth quarter when the other team was playing prevent.  So he had the same amount of time and was even more inept than Shula.

As for most people wanting him shitcanned, I seem to remember most folks wanting Rivera shitcanned and Chud promoted to head coach.  After Chud went 4-12 in Cleveland and Shula won coach of the year in 2013, people started remembering things differently.

Depends what you look at.  If you ignore quantity stats like total yards for example Cam has his best passer rating and his best completion percentage in 2013.

I'm not arguing he wasn't more efficient under Shula. Most of the people wanting Chud back seem to be more enthralled with the quantity stats always referring to his rookie year numbers.

I agree with you.  Folks who look at quantity stats over quality stats are just lazy and look at headlines or cherry picked stats instead of looking deeper to actually see under the surface and understand what is really happening.

I had forgotten about the Broncos game

Regardless, I think Shula vs Chud is like cancer vs aids. However I can see why people yearn for Chud. Our offense was fun to watch in 2011. Shula has never had a consistent offense. Can be good in some games, but he gets figured out eventually.

Lets be real here.  When Chud came here in 2011 and Cam replaced Clausen  watching paint dry would have been exciting.  2010 was the worst season in our history which compared to 2001 is saying something. Just the fact that we could actually throw the ball and score points was hugely exciting.  Wins and losses were almost secondary at that point.

If Shula's history as an offensive coordinator doesn't indict him, then I don't know what will.  It's not rocket science. His body of work as an OC should tell you what you really need to know.  As has been pointed out in other threads, statistically his offenses have never been groundbreaking or earth shattering. Then throw in the old eye test, the why-do-you-keep-running-that-same-stale-unproductive-play moments, as well as the WTF moments, and there isn't too much to hang your hat on in regards to supporting Shulaball.

Anyone with any football acumen would be able to see the actual big difference between his current playcalling versus what he called a decade ago.  His playcalling now is very different, not so much in whether we run or pass but how we use Cam and different plays we dial up.  People who try to compare him then and now really have done no work in actually looking at the difference but focus on total yard ranking without noting that the difference between a top 10 offense and a bottom 10 offense could be as little as 30 or 40 yards a game.

As for the eyeball test, if you still think he is calling the same plays for this offense that he did in Tampa, then you need glasses.

Again I am in no way saying he is that great or that we couldn't find much better signal callers simply that most of the criticism of Shula is amateurish proclamations by folks who have little clue what is reality.

Defending Shula is a losing proposition.  All of your verbose responses about football acumen and comparisons about now and then won't change the fact that Shula is absolutely horrible at adapting to the situation at hand, much less over time.

Cam got to put up better individual numbers in Chud's offense, that's why they want him back.

Honestly, I'd like to see THAT offense with THIS defense ala the Ain'ts but better defense. He could drive a Ferrari(Cam) Shula I still haven't seen that command yet. Also not having Cam and the players change to a whole other system for the 3rd time, I think, would provide some continuity. Thats why. Only thing I'd ask him to do is use the RBs a bit more.

You gotta cook what you got in your kitchen. Haven't seen any creativity or mastery at all from this OC while a very bold and creative playcaller who had our QB balling out sits as a special assistant in Indy. It's worth a try.

Shula isn't as horrible as we make him out to be. Execution is the biggest problem. With this o-line, Bill Walsh would have a hard time getting first downs.

My biggest issue with the play calls and adjustments is, why in the he** does he keep using Olsen as a blocker? I love him as a receiving threat and from what I know, as a person. But he has to be the worst blocker on the team, and that's saying a lot. Just put B. Williams in to block and put Olsen in the slot. It's time to be honest and face facts. Olsen seriously hurts the teams ability to run the ball.
