Some hard evidence why Shula needs to be fired now.

I was convinced last Thr in the game against the Saints that Shula needs to go when Olsen was in the backfield on almost every passing play in the first half blocking.  I understand the issues with the O-line but you don't take one of your best offensive weapons and essentially take him out of the game.  Why he did not use one of the other TE's to block instead and let Olsen run a route is beyond me.  .

I've said it from Day 1 that Cam needs his OC on the sidelines with him and not above him in the press box. Sitting on the sideline with Dorsey and Anderson going over plays is basically worthless. Get a legit OC, put him on the sidelines with Cam, and hire a very competent offensive assistant to man the press box. Has anybody ever seen Cam even pick up the phone and communicate with Shula?

Yep. Gettleman looked at what players work the best in a boring offense with sh!tty play calling and came up with Kelvin Benjamin and Trai Turner. Give it a rest, man.

Whether or not Gettleman sucks has nothing to do with the topic being discussed in this thread.

KB and Trai Turner are but pieces to the puzzle. I don't care to count how many people that were picked up between the draft and FA, but I am not exactly blown away by what we got as opposed to what we could have gotten in order to not only keep us competitive this season, but build for the future.  But, that's just me. Anyway, for the record I don't believe that Gettleman sucks. His work this past off season just leaves a lot to be desired, and we're now seeing that reflected in the regular season.

To your point about this thread: In my eyes the buck stops with Gettleman.  I have said in earlier threads that you can't separate Rivera's supposed failure this season without looking at what he has to deal with.  Sure he was in Shula's corner, but, even so, if we can see from past history up until the present that Shula is lacking, then G-man should be able to see it. And, obviously, as the GM he should do something about it.

the offense was pretty good last year I don't think Shula sucks but he's not a OC who can make wonders with this chicken scraps we have......the Shula hate is overrated, now if he performs this way with better talent then yeah he sucks

I'll give you that the talent hasn't been awesome, but we would frequently start out hot and then by the 3rd drive, the defense had made adjustments and Shula was incapable of adjusting back. His play calling was frustrating last year and is extremely frustrating this year. The most glaring evidence of his poor play calling is that the offense will occasionally move all the way down the field with ease, but once they get close to the end zone, whatever got them down there is abandoned and the offense fails to score.
