Hornets vs Pelicans Game Thread.

Let's see we force feed the ball to Jefferson. He scores 20 points but it takes 17 shots. Ugh. We don't utilize lance and play his game. Clifford is turning him into Gerald Henderson. I don't think he likes lance and it's bull $hit. I don't know what's wrong with this team but we better shake it up.

I don't agree with this post but it does bring up an interesting point. This roster, as fun as it looks on paper, doesn't seem to fit together, a la the Pistons last season. MKG is the closest thing we have to a legitimate two way player. The rest, while they can be very good players, are all flawed in some way. Al plays no defense. Marvin is a 3 playing the 4. Lance can't spread the floor or shoot particularly well. Kemba is not efficient.

I feel like the best aspect of this team would be in transition. MKG, Lance and Kemba all have tremendous ability in transition. The problem is we rarely get to expose that because we have to wait for Al to get up the court so he can be effective.

I hope there's a happy medium where we get the most out of the roster like last year. Hopefully Cliff finds it soon. Doesn't get any easier tomorrow

Transition also doesn't work because surprisingly (and I mean that), we're not getting rebounds.

What don't u agree with. Fact is a fact. Jefferson scored 20 points off 17 shots. Not that anybody has been better. But Clifford force feeds his guys. We run the same plays for al every time. If they can't get it to al then someone else ends up shooting.

We don't try to penetrate and kick out. That would be using big Als Space. And that's the problem. The player we have can't play off of al. Kemba penetrated better than shooting. Lance penetrates better than shooting. MKG penetrates better than his shooting.

I really did think mcroberts was overrated. I'm starting to rethink that. Man idk I'm just frustrated and coming up with a lot of things. I'm really starting to get irritated play AL-ball

Hornets win this game if MKG plays. Henderson would have had less minutes and the defense would have been much better. I still don't understand why Biyombo is not getting minutes. Our second unit every game so far has been getting dominated in the paint. Zeller and Maxiell don't work well together at all. All Biyombo needs to do is rebound and block and he seems to be a huge energy guy.

I'm also starting to question whether Zeller shouldn't be starting over Williams. I guess it depends on the matchup, but I think Zeller could possibly be a better starter.

No one spreads the floor in that lineup. Heck im wondering if Kemba-Lance is working. They're essentially the same player, Lance is just bigger.

They win the Knicks game but not tonight. The Asik-Davis combo was just overwhelming tonight. Nothing MKG could have done about that.

We just need more front court help...point blank.  Rotation of Jefferson, Williams, and Zeller is soft. Jefferson whilea good play is not a franchise player.  We need more size and athleticism on the wings.

Yeah, but I'm just thinking in terms of production and Cody actually has shown that he can hit the 20-footer this year, so he could open up things more so than last year.

Umm. No. Lance is a much better distributor.

In terms of their style of play: very iso-ball, beat-the-man-off-the-dribble playground style, it's like watching the same player.

Ironically it was that style that was going to make things so exciting but all it's brought about so far is frustration.
