Is Cam Newton the next Jay Cutler?

Where did I say no other QB has had a bad three game stretch. Literally the only thing I'm saying is that Cam's bad stretch has been 3 games, not 1. Get your head out of your ass

You have to remember what a "bad game" means to any QB other than Cam Newton.

Two weeks ago, Rivers, the QB in question, was 30 of 41 for 252 yards, 3TD's, 2int., and a 92.7 QB rating.

If Cam put up numbers like these, the Hugger's would be crowing...as a matter of fact, it would be the 3rd best game of the season for Cam...but because it wasn't Cam who put up those numbers...it was a "bad game" for Rivers.

So far this season Rivers is 7th in completion percentage and 7th in NFL passer rating on a team with a bad offensive line.

So far this season Newton is 32nd in completion percentage and 27th in NFL passer rating on a team with a bad offensive line.

The only QB in the entire NFL completing a lower percentage of their passes than Cam Newton is Geno Smith.

Let that sink in a moment.

good way to have an uncontested argument.

irrelevant to the conversation in the op though.

If you are going to have a discussion regarding the future of a QB, the talent surrounding them is absolutely relevant to the conversation.

Unless that simply doesn't fit your own agenda.

Cam is the most micro analyzed football player I have ever seen. By fans and media.

Funny the emphasis on "Three. Games. In. A. Row"

As if these last three games are more important than the "Three. Games. In. A. Row" last season against Minny, St. Louis, and Tampa where he was completing around 78% of his passes and had 8 total TDS and zero interceptions.

Question. Why does the last 3 games show he isn't the answer? Couldn't those three games last year be the future for Cam Newton?

If the defense doesn't give up a TD with less than one minute left, Cam Newton and the Panthers defeat golden god Russell Wilson and the Super Bowl champs.

Truth is these mouth breathers do not like Cam for one reason or another and a couple of poor performances means he is the next Cutler, Carr, Vince Young, Jamarcus Russell etc.

yea but it doesnt take a great QB to play great in a clean pocket every play. look at Foles last year.

what i dont quite understand here is that the unconditional Newton defenders will tell us he deserves huge money but also needs a great running game, a great line and more weapons to be given a real chance to succeed. my feeling is someone who is supposed to get that type of money should be able to do more with less. what i saw in the new orleans game, by far his worse game, was solid protection, decent pockets and terrible throws and some drops. that was three quarters of the game. in the fourth quarter, the wheels fell off they just pinned their ears back and bull rushed our line.

i would like to see him with another OC before we dedicate the fortress to him, which i do support by the way.

LOL look a Foles this year. Where is he? What happened to him? Could never be the line... Also factor in that Philly line has more talent than our own and you see Cam doing one hell of a job staying healthy.

Truth is as QBs develop, inconsistencies are part of the process. Peyton Manning's worst years were probably his 4th and 5th years in the league with 42 INTS over that span. His 4th year they had a 6-10 record.

It is a process that takes a while before you see QB stats start to level off into more consistent trends.

It is just part of the process. Cam is 25 and still learning and developing

uhm that was kinda the point, Foles had a great line and played great, a lot of players can do that. you might as well spend a shitton of money on the line rather than the QB which would also help the run game be better. now that they've had injuries on the line, his true colors have shown.
