Adrian Peterson pleads no contest, gets no jail time

Hardy should probably not plead like Peterson did. 

 

If Hardy can secure an acquittal in Superior Court, then he will be able to keep all of the $13.1 Million he is making this year for sitting around playing PS4. If he pleads guilty, he will certainly face some sort of fine which could amount to a huge chunk of his 2014 salary. Lets not forget that Hardy probably only took home a couple million dollars from his rookie contract, so his financial situation is his paramount concern here.

 

He also potentially opens himself up to more civil liability if he pleads guilty as the guilty plea may be admissible in a civil case which could be brought by the alleged victim. It would depend on the specifics of what Hardy would pleads to and how he pleads (guilty v. no contest).

 

If he and his attorney think he can win the jury trial in Superior Court, then they should let it play out.

It is really a demographic/cultural thing...in Peterson's mind he probably didn't view it as wrong.

You know how many of the sweet looking elderly people you see at church or around town whipped the poo out of there kids with a switch? Lot of them probably went overboard once or twice too. We discipline different now as a society but some still carry it on.

The one incident alone doesn't make someone a monster IMO. Whatever else there is to AP will determine his destiny IMO

I don't mind people disciplining their children responsibly. With or without a switch? But what AP did has nothing to do with discipline. In fact, I am sure it falls more into the roid-rage category. Definitely assault.

I just now looked at the photos. I was expecting something much much much worse.

He ripped the kids scrotum sac open with the switch. And left marks literally from head to toe. I cannot for the life of me, rationalize why you would do this to a 4 year old youngin? I've had plenty of beatings as a child that i most likely deserved. But nothing ever like that

The amount of beatings I got as a child is on another level compared to what's going on today. If people knew what kind of beatings I got my parents would've been under the jail. But those beatings made me a better man and it definitely taught me right for wrong. I'm not saying that it's right for what AP did. We live in a different era and things like that just can't take place like in the 90's or before then. If I had kids I won't give them spankings unless it's needed. But it's nothing in the law that says I can't discipline them through rigorous workouts.

I personally found AP to have crossed that line when hearing he put leaves in his kid's mouth when switching him.  I don't know if that truly happened, but if it did it falls under cruel and unusual punishment in my book.

Hardy could've just pled guilty to his misdomeaner charge and been back in games by now. To some people it's not just about that, it's about actual justice.

Yeh, i mean he would have to admit he beat a woman and whatever else. Thats a big deal if you didn't do it, or its being manipulated somehow to be much worse. (Dont kno the case) So......yeah. I doubt its that simple.
