It is really a demographic/cultural thing...in Peterson's mind he probably didn't view it as wrong.

You know how many of the sweet looking elderly people you see at church or around town whipped the poo out of there kids with a switch? Lot of them probably went overboard once or twice too. We discipline different now as a society but some still carry it on.

The one incident alone doesn't make someone a monster IMO. Whatever else there is to AP will determine his destiny IMO

I was/am not aware of this detail regarding no contest pleas.  That said, I believe the court of public opinion and the NFL would take that into account and it would basically take money out of his pocket.  Still think it could have some influence over the civil trial as inadvertent as it might be.

Civil suit would have to come from the mothers child, and I don't think she's going to sue him or anything like that last I heard she didn't think Peterson had done anything that serious.  The NFL will definitely fine Peterson, they don't have to sue him in civil court.
