When they say its set for early 2015, it's not officially set and will definitely happen. It just means when the time comes they will see if they can fit it in (along with the huge amount of other backlogged cases). There's a good chance that it continues to get pushed back, there are cases ahead of his that have been waiting years.

I wonder what's going to happen if it gets pushed all the way back to 2016. Does he miss all of next season as well?

its going to be pushed back indefinitely. They'll end his whole career bc of a he said she said situation with no evidence

The agreement assumed that this would be resolved in a timely fashion and not drag on for years. I can't imagine that they thought it would drag on.  I did hear speculation that Hardy and his lawyer might be behind not getting it tried now.  He is getting 13 million for the year and if he were guilty and got suspended this year it would cost almost 5 million.  Everyone knows that if he gets paid next year it will be for quite a bit less.  So if he were suspended next year for 6 games and he were getting 7 million for the season then he would lose less than 3 million.  Plus his lawyer can drag out the fees and collect twice as much. So other than the Panthers getting screwed, Hardy saves a year of wear and tear, earns all 13 millon and when suspended will pay back millions less next year.  His lawyer makes a bunch more money and the only folks holding the bag are the Panthers.

Exactly. The only entity suffering is the team. Greg's fine. The NFLPA is fine. Goodell is fine.

The Panthers get the shaft to keep Roger out of more hot water, because he, and no one else, totally fuged up the Ray Rice situation.

I understand if he did in fact throw some cracked out skank on a bed, it's his fault for getting himself in that situation. But now Peterson may very well get activated this week after hitting a kid, Rice is on appeal and may return this season, some sources saying in a couple of weeks. It's bullpoo Hardy is even sitting out now, our owners tears speech was laughable. If I was Hardy, my ass would be looking elsewhere with a owner who is not considered a good 'ol boy of the NFL.

And also this situation does not help with bringing in big name Free Agents. You can bet players are paying attention to how the team has handled this situation. A owner and team that doesnt back their players when things get complicated and on Top of that does KNOW HOW TO WIN IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Now I think people that are looking forward to us bringing in Free Agents shouldnt get their hopes up.
