Touch on "Trial De Novo" please so people can understand how the NC judicial system works.

One is not guilty in the state of NC until the defendant agrees to guilt or a superior court (not district court) finds the defendant guilty.

The Panthers should have understood the legal system and stood their ground with Hardy like the 49ers did with McDonald until due process is served and the legal system determines guilt or innocence.

He was found guilty and sentenced to probation, which he will try to appeal and lose. But as of now, he is guilty.

It's easy to say we should have let him walk since he wasn't on the field.  Had he been playing this whole time.....I doubt you're making that statement.

I would have to doubt your doubt.  Even if Hardy was playing, he would be playing DE, not LT or RT.  He wouldn't be playing receiver.  Our offense would still suck.  Yet in any case, if he had played and had a great year, we would have to pay him 14-15 million a year just to resign him.  This was nothing more than a rental year.

Boys boys boys....

Is it really that nerve pending to you that you want to let one of the leagues best defensive talent walk away?

You know other players see how teams treat and have faith in players.. Carolina isnt a hot destination first off and letting him go because of something speculated isn't helping. We need him or someone like him, and that comes with a price my friends. We can't be some Goodwill team and expect to be in the top of the league. You want to let someone who can give you 5 sacks in one game and be a complete GAME CHANGER. Panthers get major brownie points on a personal level if they stick with Hardy and support him as a man. Its football and the locker room is a brother hood. You pick your boys up when you are down and help each other get better.

I don't know. If someone paid me 13 million dollars to sit at home I would feel like they hooked me the hell up

Hardy probably would have been the difference in the outcome of the Cincy game and the Seattle game.

With that said.....it's possible that Hardy sitting out could work to the Panthers long term benefit.  I don't see him getting 14-15 mill per year on his next contract.  What if he works out a long term deal with us that's incentive laden so it keeps the cap hit low.

Hindsight is 20/20.  If Hardy would have walked this off season and our D went on to under perform as it has.....people would have been calling for DG's head there too.

As I'm sure it's been said...if they believe he is innocent, why isn't he playing?

Also, fug Bleacher Report and the nincompoops who use it.

Also, please sign Kraken for da cheap.

Because it has nothing to do with his guilt or innocence.  It's JR covering his buddy Goodell's ass.

If you want Hardy at a bargain price, now is the time.  Chknwing is right--a good deal ($9m or so) could make him easy to trade for good value).

If we sign him to keep, I think we could trade Johnson.  I don't see us signing Hardy, Cam, and then addressing our needs without a major move.
