The Steelers have the blueprint on how to utilize Cam

Many, myself included have compared Cam and Ben.

Big guys with a strong arm who can and like to extend plays.

Obviously the wr corp is vastly different and the o line for Pitt ia playing better.

But the super fast wideouts can break from their routes AND get open.

If JR wanta to still emulate the Steelers I suggest starting here will pay off in huge dividends.

Ha basically posted the exact same thing 3 minutes before you posted this in a different thread.

Speed kills.

Was talking about Cam's touch on the ball. It's almost impossible to compare Cam to any QB in this league or that has played before because physically and athletically he's in a league of his own. But if I had to choose one QB I'd pick Big Ben. Reasoning would be his ability to extend plays, he'll also take a bad sack here and there but with playmakers like these two you take the good with the bad.

Watching Ben the last couple of weeks it's hard not to notice the touch he puts on the ball. He's having a great year and can be fun to watch. BUT Pittsburgh has always done an excellent job with providing him with playmakers. From Mike Wallace to Emmanuel Sanders to this years group of Martavias Bryant, Markus Wheaton and Antonio Brown they all have one thing in common, speed. Speed and the ability to separate providing Ben with larger windows to throw into. They also even drafted Dri Archer with Bryant this year who has elite speed as well.

Cam on the other hand has Benjamin, Cotchery and Avant. Benjamin's wingspand provides a different kind of window. However, Cotchery and Avant are just too slow and rarely provide Cam with a large enough window to lob the ball into. I bring this up because it's effecting Cam's touch. Cam is forced to rifle the ball into tight windows due to a lack of separation by WR's. Don't get me wrong, I understand Cam still throws hard when maybe he shouldn't but more times than not he doesn't have a choice. We also have Bersin who is a mini Avant imo and Brown who is more fast than he is quick. On the PS we have Snead and Lucas who aren't burners either.

The lack of speed in this group is puzzling. I don't understand why you wouldn't give your QB atleast one guy that has the ability to turn a 5 yard pass into a 50 yard gain.

I've been saying this for years now...

JR said he wanted to model our franchise after the Steelers... well then fuging do it. You know where you can start? Drafting talented playmakers to surround your franchise QB with. Look at all thd guys they have drafted and developed since Ben has been there... Santonio, Wallace, Sanders, Brown... now Bryant is coming along.

BTW, guess who kept pounding away the "pick Martavis Bryant" drum all through the draft?

That's right. But keep drafting defensive players and D3 linemen guys. That's how perennial winners are built, lol.

Cam has to work on his accuracy to be as good as Big Ben. That no muscle in his body fug has pretty tremendous accuracy. This is coming from a guy who hates the Steelers.

Cam has just as good accuracy provided he is protected. I worry more about his inconsistency than I do his accuracy.

Roethlisberger is in a league of his own at the moment in pure passing in terms of touch and accuracy. Newton just isn't there now. I don't really see the comparison between the two in terms of style. Beyond being big guys.
