Define retread.

If you're talking about an ex Super Bowl coach like Cowher or Gruden, those guys pretty much never duplicate their prior success with new teams.

If you're talking about a guy who had a shot somewhere else that didn't work out, there's a much better track record with those guys.

Retread: former HC but excluding interim titles.

Basically, if Rivera's canned, I've seen the growing sentiment that people want a sure thing running the team.  So the usual suspects that aren't happening (Cowher/Gruden/Del Rio) amongst others fall into the category.  Not saying I wouldn't want one, but think if you can identify a coordinator that has the ability to be a HC, go for it.

Hue is intriguing and Todd Haley is a guy I'd give another shot to.

Art Briles and Tom Clements are my faves...or Kubiak/Dennison.

But most likely Rivera is here in 2015/16 barring I'd say a 5-10-1.

Teeray pointed out elsewhere that every time a Panther coach not in his first season that's finished 7-9 or worse has wound up unemployed.

I worded that a bit deceptively in hindsight. Every coach that has finished WORSE than 7-9 has been fired.

So 6-10 or worse has been fired with the exception being Rivera's first year.

lol, I can't believe Greg Roman is an actual candidate. He's probably the worst offensive coordinator in the league (aside from Shula)

That's basically like promoting Shula to Head Coach. How would you guys feel about that?

And how come Jim Harbaugh isn't an option? He's done in SF after this year for sure.

Harbaugh is looney tunes. Plus if he has no OL his team will stink too
