Why did we sign Ed Dickson?

I'll admit he has been a big disappointment

Why is this a question directed about Gettleman? He signed a good quality #2 TE, everyone loved the signing. It's not Gettleman's fault Shula has absolutely no idea how to incorporate him into the offense.

 

I didn't like the signign, it was a waste of money in an offseason we couldn't afford to waste money.  First of all just look at last years stats for Dickson, he was the worst starting TE.  The WORST.  He dropped the most balls, on a team where he was expected to contribute a lot after Pita going down.  He's never had a break out season.  He's not a good blocker.  But potentially he can some how possibly be good down the road maybe??  Well all that adds up to developing a young rookie prospect, not spending money on a "what if" when we already have a stud TE....

After being a Panthers fan for 14 years, I can honestly say that this team has never been good at determining who is better and who is not. We had Charles Godfrey on this team for how many years? Kugbila?

Who was better behind them. That's my point and is why we have 4 udfas on the oline.

If B. Williams was on the Patriots, the dude would be a future hall of famer by now. Our coaching staff doesn't know how to do anything. Use your damn players. It's obvious that they play favorites or play whoever they pay for. If Ron or Shula was on Seahawks at the time Flynn and Wilson were competing with each other, they would have chosen Flynn to be their starter becasue they "paid" more for him.

Also, even though they aren't the best in the world, you can already tell that Dockery and Colin Jones can place twice as good a Godfrey in the nickel. Still, that's not saying much.

Our team is so devoid of talent right now its not funny. Coaches like McD make players like Society and Jones look better than theyare while ccoaches like Shula can't.

Last season we nailed our FA signings.

This season's has not worked out so much.

Hopefully next season we nail it again so that we can have a strong base for when we exit cap Hell the season after.
