Right again.  Gettleman's actual NFL experience building winning NFL teams is sorely lacking when compared to your widely renowned football evaluation skills.

All these men who have worked with Gettleman for years are totally insincere in their praise.  We all know that no one ever says what they actually believe to the press.  If I were as logical as you, I would know that.

I'm am now a hypocrite for comparing facts to statements instead of automatically dismissing these men's statements out of hand.

Yeah, that's it.

Whether or not they are sincere is irrelevant. The fact that their comments are so commonplace that they could've been written by anyone without them ever speaking them is all that's relevant.

I'm sooooooooo impressed that people from the Giants organization said that Gettleman has what it takes to be an excellent GM. I'm as impressed by it as I would've been had they said exactly the same thing about Marc Ross, which they would've done had Richardson hired him instead.

My guess is plenty of you wouldn't take their word for it then, any more than Cam Newton's position as the #1 draft pick was accepted by some around here. But keep giving Gettleman the benefit of the doubt. I wouldn't expect any less.

Just amazed at how some think DG is the savior after how this season is going so far.............

He claimed he needed two years to fix this mess.  So far, it's looking like he's potentially made a bigger mess than the one he inherited.  Still though, I'll give him his two years.  If we're still a dumpster fire next year, adios nipple shorts!

I agree i just think the 2 year think is a cop-out, you had a 12-4 team and damn near gutted it......i know we couldn't afford some of those guys but the team as a whole has gotten worst in almost ever position other then wr (which is debatable).

he has a chance to turn it around but he dug himself in this hole, his so called plan looks like he's just winging it so far

Is winning the division the only route to the playoffs? They do still have wildcards don't they?

Are the Panthers the only team that's ever had to deal with injuries over the past 20 years?

We are middle of the pack for playoff appearances. Our fans are just is full blown collapse mode because we haven't had a run like the Colts/Patriots. I'm sure their fans felt the same in the 80s or 90s.

I read a story about the time Johnny Unitas cleaned out his locker for the final time at Memorial Stadium, while surrounded by reporters and all he took with him was his metal spiked cleats and said he needed them in order to mow grass at his residence and that the rest of his belongings could be sent to Cooperstown.Ole, how times have changed in todays NFL,can you imagine a HOF QB now retiring and concerned about mowing their own grass?i just wonder if JR ever mowed his own grass after his retirement from the NFL?

JR flipped burgers for a decade after leaving the NFL.

You have a right to your opinion.

I have a right to the opinion that everything you know about running an NFL team wouldn't fill a post it note.

Yup and a lot of us feel that JR would have a tough time filling out that post it note....sure he knows how to make money but he sure as fug doesn't know how to put a winning product on the field.

It starts at the top. Jerry has that good ole boy southern holier than thou attitude.that factors in to every decision we make as an origination. Cam if you get tattoo thats a no no. If you get arrested in college you won't be playing here. What a dwi....oh hell no. That alone lets you miss out on key free agents and draft day steals.

Some kids mess up in college they are kids. God forbid we needed a qb this year and Winston was on the board. Football is a mans game. You don't win wars with choir boys. Which trickles down into or gm our coach and how you play the game.
