Jerry Richardson

The lamest possible post on an online message board. Hey, I've never been president, guess I shouldn't go criticizing Obama or Bush right? Hey Lions fans of a few years ago, you've never been GM before, so where do you get off criticizing Matt Millen? I've never made a movie, so maybe I should shut the hell up when I think Transformers 9 is a pile of dogshit?

You have a right to your opinion.

I have a right to the opinion that everything you know about running an NFL team wouldn't fill a post it note.

Eventually we would have got an NFL team anyway. I can't feel that grateful for a guy making millions when fielding a terrible product.

Richardson hires coaches that coach like it is the 80s. He is the common denominator. Fox and rivera are the same. Play not to lose.

I don't think he cares about winning. If you don't care about that then bad times are ahead. He makes money from tv deals and the fact half the stadium is other teams' fans regardless of our success.

I will keep laughing at the homers that refuse to accept we have a bad owner. Have fun with a decent team every four or so years with nothing else.

I mean I guess that's fair. I'll be keeping an eye out on any post of yours though Scot that criticizes the play of any Panther player though seeing as how you've never played in the NFL!

With the Hornets rise and surge in popularity the Panthers will become very irrelevant in a short amount of time if JR doesn't get his poo together. No way in fug will people even bother with the Can'thers when the NBA team has it's share of success. MJ is a great owner who wants to motherfuging win and is always hungry. His team has improved each year he's been owner and has done a lot of good things. That will be a good team for a long time. JR wants to fuging play Pittsburgh Steelers 1970s football and have his defensive footbaww coaches clean his pants up when he shits all over himself. The game has passed him by but he doesn't realize that.

Now the question is: does Jerry get his poo together? Considering the amount of yes men in this thread who buy up PSLs like the lemmings they are, I would say no. Enjoy your 7 win team year in year out, losers (aside from an occasional playoff appearance once every presidential term)

Feel free. Just don't expect me to value what you have to say.

Believe it or not, I'm of the opinion that Richardson has made plenty of mistakes (hiring and keeping Hurney is the primary one) but what I find stupid is the tendency to blame him for everything without a clear understanding of real world football.

Richardson can't stop players from getting injured. He can't erase the salary cap. And unless you want him to be Jerry Jones, he can't change what coaches do on Game Day.

What he can so, he's already done. He put an actual 'football guy' in charge of the operations, and that guy is trying to fix the mess. Sadly, some fans are dumb enough to believe it can be fixed overnight, and those same dumb fans want everybody from the owner on down fired when it doesn't happen.

As I've said before, some of our fans apparently went to the Al Davis School of Management because they think annual firings are the key to success.

Jerry is far from the worst owner in the league, and the notion that he doesn't care as long as the team is profitable is refuted by anyone who's worked closely with him. It's the 'how' part of his approach that's failed, not the 'why'.

So if you wanna criticize, go ahead. Just try to say something more intelligent in the process than 'Jerry sucks and we'll all be better off if he sells the team or dies'.

We don't need a new owner, we need better fans that have a little respect and basic loyalty to the man that moved mountains to bring a franchise to Charlotte. If it wasn't for Richardson, we'd still be watching Redskins games every Sunday complaining about Dan Snyder.

Actually if it wasn't for the fans and community Richardson wouldn't have a team.

So you'd say he runs a successful franchise? We are talking on field product. We all know he can make money

Successful on field? More so than some, but not as good as others.

But even if he ran the worst organization in football, I seriously doubt advice from message board fans would lead to any improvement.

lol

JR is bottom ten easily from a franchise prestige standpoint

When the only argument you have to endorse him is "but he brought a franchise to charlotte!", tells you all you need to know about how much of a winning franchise this is.

Ron should've been fired at the end of 2012. The fact that he kept him to be "evaluated" is just another example of a long line of instances that we just keep guys because we can't fire someone until he proves himself utterly incompetent.

Richardson is not Al Davis. He's on the other side of the spectrum where teams like the Titans and the Jets are. And at the end of the day it isn't any better.

Sell the team to a competent owner. I think it's no coincidence that the team's failures really started in earnest as soon as he had his major surgery.

Any way you look at it, Jerry Richardson has failed as an owner. He's been the one constant since 1995. No back-to-back winning seasons in 20 years? No playoff wins at all in 10 years? The NFL has passed him by. He still thinks it's the era of Johnny Unitas.

your posts are grade A++ monday through saturday

    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
    • I would say maybe 8 in a tier by themselves and all but 2 where picked in the top of the first allen pat m stroud burrow jackson hurts (maybe) Herbert Stafford
