Doubt inside BofA Cam is the future?

We've already picked up his 5th year option.

Of course what we really need to do is negotiate a long term cap friendly (as mush as it can be) contract way past the 5th year option. Picking up the 5th year doesn't mean much.

5 years 100 million plus would.

That would be your indicator the FO is all in.

No idea. Probably draft a QB depending on where we're at in the draft (there are some very good

QBs in this draft that are not named Winston). it would depend on what the new offensive coordinator wants to do.

Honestly, though, it would probably begin with trading Cam before/during the Draft.

I'm not saying that's what will happen, mind you, just how it would play out.

If Cam left....DA would start.  We would draft a guy thoiugh, but DA would start.

The average age of Super Bowl winning QBs is 30. Peyton Manning took 6 years to win his first playoff game. Cam IS the greatest QB in NFL history after 3+ years with little supporting cast. This thread is a world of bullchit.

I mean, I like Cam, but how is he the greatest QB ever after three seasons? He's only been to one playoffs with no playoff win. Andrew Luck broke all of his passing records.

The only records he still holds are the rushing TD records.

i'm telling you right now if we had chip kelly Cam would be smashing the record books to pieces.

he would be putting up 30+ points a game every fuging game

i still think Chip was holding out so long and decided to go back to Oregon at first because Rivera wasn't fired.

I'm not sure that's true. If we drafted a guy high, he would play. The days of sitting behind a veteran QB (except for in Jacksonville, and that only lasted two games) are done.

If we drafted some random project late, then yeah, a vet would start.

(Also, isn't DA a free agent at the end of this season?)

I am not bashing Cam or am I a coach., but Cam is no longer a rookie and is still throwing the ball too high for his targets. this should have been corrected by now. If we want to see if he is the problem, then start Anderson and see what happens. everyone on the team is accountable including Cam. I support him, but its time to play better. Brees overcame two turnovers and put the ball where the receiver could make a play. I know our O-line is bad, but he should get rid of the ball quicker and not take sacks. Shula takes part of the blame also.

Your Wr have to get open quicker to get rid of the ball quicker.

Statistically, all things included, yes and it's not even close.  Not to mention Luck has played one less year in the league BUT played more college football.

Is there also doubt that Kuechly is the future? He may be leading the NFL in tackles, but has he taken over a single game this year like he did repeatedly last year? He suddenly has so many missed tackles, less takeaways, starting to overpursue...

(Now I don't actually believe that, but saying Kuechly isn't the future at linebacker is just as ridiculous as saying Cam isn't the future at QB.)

Isn't Wins and Losses a team stat??

While we had a top 5 scoring offense Cam's Rookie year we had the worst defense. But Cam takes blame for all those losses right.

I also love how Luck gets credit for being in a suck ass division getting 4 easy wins a year.

Well if the Panthers actually did have plans to go in a different direction then Cam, there's no way they let DA walk.

No reason to start a rookie over DA until that rookie is ready.   If DA stinks it up obviously he would be benched.  Eventually the drat pick would take over unless DA lights it up.  Either way this is getting really ahead of ourselves.

and that starts with Jerry Richardson. Marguide alluded to it in another thread. We take ZERO chances in this organization as far as coaching. He quoted philly's owner saying something to the affect of "to win big you have to gamble big" and they gambled on Kelly and are winning BIG TIME.

Cam is so rare, we need someone with an offensive mind like kelly who can get the most out of Cam. the fans deserve it, the organization deserves it and Cam deserves it.

I look at every year as a stepping stone for Cam. first year Cam the playmaker, second year Cam using more pro sets less read option (finally) and winning, Year 3 Cam the decision maker.

Year 4? This was suppose to be the year he puts it all together. Now I just hope he can make it out alive with his confidence still intact.
