Doubt inside BofA Cam is the future?

Use Lafell as an example all you want but the truth is he was always on track to be pretty good, his numbers were comparable to Mushin's and that's a year with pickles. He's still better than every WR on our roster outside of KB

I did not like LaFell but this is very true.  He improved statistically in almost every category annually but from a situational standpoint was frustrating as hell.

I was just making an example of the idiocy here on the Huddle.  Lafell was being treated like the plague or worse, Shula, on these boards last year.  Nobody called him a great receiver.  He was one of the "problems du jour", like we have today on these boards.  All receivers, even KB are being questioned now.

when a football player;s numbers aren't very good well that's just his fault bc good players overcome their teammates' deficiencies. as we've seen olsen's numbers have fallen off a fuging cliff the past few weeks and since context never ever matters i think it's safe to say that olsen should consider retirement. just like cam should step into his throws and idk defy the laws of physics by passing himself directly through the multiple defensive linemen who have already handily beaten the OL on the snap, olsen should bring down 80 and a td even if he doesn't get a single target imo. doubt inside bofa olsen is the future?

In case you missed it, I was being sarcastic about the myth that Luck has more weapons than Cam. People continually name this tight end who I don't think is better than Olsen in any way.

Including Olsen who as we have heard, is frustrated because he has been open on occasion and is not getting the ball. If a QB needs all the weapons in the world to produce, then he is not worth max money IMO.

Honestly? I heard this was the case too. I didn't want to chime in or start a new thread but I'd figured I'd just say it.

To clarify though: It's not that they don't want to sign him long term, just if they had to pull the trigger now, they wouldn't because they feel like he doesn't deserve it at this moment. They don't want to throw so much Money at him and cripple putting more pieces in place that could help the team.

Heard it from the same guy that told me about Gross and Smitty this offseason so I am inclined to believe it. Told me some other stuff too that I found interesting. What it basically boils down to is all the people that think JR has more say in what we do as an organization than people realize, are 100% correct. He is the puppet master.

Remember, part of the excuse for the poor passing numbers last year was that Cam just did not have the weapons necessary to succeed.

Smitty was just not a number 1 any longer. According to the 'huggers, he was hurting the offense.

And Brandon Lafail...what a joke...that guy wasn't good enough to be the number two on any team in the league outside of Carolina.

Fast forward. Smitty is on pace to go for 1350 yards. Umm...that's pretty good, LOL.

And LaFail is on pace to go for 922 and 8 TD's as Tom Brady's clear number two.

All Carolina had last season in addition to Smith and LaFell was Greg Olsen and Stewart and Williams. Poor Cam needed more weapons to succeed.

You just can't make stuff like this up...

I am following what you're saying but different teams and different structures make for a whole different player. Many here are bringing up other players from other teams and how someone like Richardson in Indy is not doing/doing so much. Or how LaFell is now a legit number two. He was last year in a different system with a different roll.

Hell, he is fighting for touches against a TE slightly better then Olsen, too.

Anyway, its not that I disagree I just see it as more then a simple study.

So Cam doesnt deserve an extension at this moment because he is not playing well? But it was perfectly okay to give Rivera an extension after one winning season? JR is better off packing this team up and moving it somewhere else because the front office has screwed this season up since the new league year started, this isnt on Cam and any real fans are not falling for this bull poo. If thats how he feels then he can take his team somewhere else and get a bunch of other suckers to support it and put money his pocket.

lol whatever dude

from "smitty is the only NFL caliber receiver on this team!1" in 2013 to "you know lafell really reminds me of moose" this year

Again before the season I said Lafelll would put up numbers with the patriots. I've also said that last years unit was/is better than this one. If you're going to continue to comment on everything I say then I'm going go need you to start taking some notes.
