Doubt inside BofA Cam is the future?

The Cam vs Luck argument is really meaningless as Cam is under contract with us and Luck with them blah, blah, blah.

Sure if the Colts called and wanted to trade straight up I'd do it in a heart beat after due diligence.

It's like the Jordan vs Kobe argument a few years ago, who's better. Really doesn't matter as it relates to the Lakers then as Jordan was selling underwear at the time and Kobe was winning championships.

Only thing that matters is how Cam plays for us and how could he be better. Can and will the FO do that?

Let's meet the Colts in the Super Bowl and beat their asses.

Sorry, missed this first time around. Much Pie.

Cam is not the GOAT, nor is he a lost cause like some critics here would have us believe.

He is a work in progress.

Cam has the misfortune of being part of an organization attempting to turn itself around after years of mismanagement.

If he isn't permanently injured due to a lack of protection, he may one day be an elite QB.

The talent around him needs to be improved and that includes the coaches.

Looks like Cam will need a 1,000 yard back as well. Numbers mean nothing, it is the talent around the QB...take Peyton Manning, 1 Super Bowl for as many years as he has been in the league. His brother has 2 and no one would say Eli is better. Look at Russell Wilson, wins the Super Bowl in his sophmore year...he hasn't had a chance to amasse numbers.

We need a team...not just a freakish athlete at QB that we can't build around (or it seems we can't build around).

If Cam got 800 yards rusher or at least somebody who could be feared enough that Cam isn't the main rushing option.

I received a tweet from another NFC South front office outside the Panthers. It reads:

Front office lacks talent evaluation skills; relies on undrafted players. GM cannot handle internal issues; continues to grow resentment among players and fan base; turning Panthers into farm team for the league. Coaches lose team; play to weaknesses instead of strengths; can not adjust in game; lack ability to track pulse of team. Panthers organization is predictable; laughable opponent on game day. Doubt front office and coaches are the future. Easy win for next decade. Hope JR keeps them in place. Victory is ours.

Everything I say about them.

The truth in this post is so beautiful I read it multiple times to bask in the glow of it. It only applies to the Saints, though.

Tweet must've contained a link or something, because that's way more than 140 characters.

Terrell Davis won John Elway back-to-back Super Bowls, but according to ESPN, it's always about the QB.

Elway never won it all until he had Davis, and him being named MVP of Super Bowl XXXIII, instead of Davis, was clearly a gift from the league for his years of service.

Cam has played well and you don't see teams get rid of capable QBs often. But I'm telling you that if his contract negotiation comes around sometime close to training camp next year and it doesn't get done...not good for future.

Personally, I don't think JR or Gettlemen appreciate the way he celebrates and just acts in general on the field. All of that is fun when you are winning. It's not so fun when you are 1-5-1 in your last 7 games. Shitty roster or not there was a reason it was gutted to see if Cam could be the "leader." I don't think the blame falls all on him but he's had some crap games recently too..you can't just insulate him from that fact.

I think if he comes to the table and says "I want 100+ million and have 70 mil guaranteed"...DG and JR will laugh in his face and let him walk. QB contracts are about winning and production. You think the Falcons are happy they are paying Matt Ryan a fortune when he can't carry that team? Their roster sucks bc of his contact (with a few exceptions). So cam needs to prove he can win with a mediocre roster bc that's what it takes if he wants max money...no crying about the role players.

Truthfully...I think that if this thing doesn't turn around this year then Cam will make it to free agency without a deal and we will see what the market commands for him. Who knows what happens at that point.

But I stand by my assertion that Gettlemen is going to look at QBs this offseason in the draft as a contingency plan.

Weapons and teams

Teams make weapons, not generally the other way around.  Easiest example right off is Lafell.

Brady has been given crumbs from other teams tables for years, but makes them look all world.

We have more issues than continually harping on the need for more "weapons"

Use Lafell as an example all you want but the truth is he was always on track to be pretty good, his numbers were comparable to Mushin's and that's a year with pickles. He's still better than every WR on our roster outside of KB
