2006 Colts had the 31st ranked run defense

70% of their money was tied up in the offense. They only needed to have a defense that allowed around 27 points to win a bunch.

First, does that imply Meeks wasn't as worried about stopping the run as he was just keeping them below 27 points and second, what does that say about the current situation. I seriously doubt we can consistently allow 27 points and have a winning season.

Of course Meeks now has a player with seemingly 70% of the defensive money tied up but that's another story.

Gamble was playing so far off the WR that he wasn't really covering a route and should have recognized it was a run. Why would Gamble have to turn around? The entire offense was right in front of him....

So wait he should have left the WR which was his responsibilities on that play too make a play on a rb that was already at the second level before the wr stop running his route? He got caught in a no win situtation. You do know the ball was just outside of the 20 yard line. Even if he got in perfect tackling position he would have got his neck broke. It's the law of physic if force A comes squared up with speed (not too mention outweighing) force B who is stationary. Force B gets ran over or destroyed. I rather have gamble in the reg. season then lose him too a broke collar bone in the preseason.

I think Sanders would have laid the wood to said RB.

Dude not if the RB has a head full of steam and outweighs sanders by 20lb or 30lb and sanders is stationary!!! Yeah right!! He's good but he's not superman he would be out half the season after that play. Lott would have a problem making that play at the 3 yard line.
