Rivera: "Hardy should be in due to postponed trail"

Recommended Posts

If that was the reason. Then why was he not suspended the 6 games?

This has nothing to do with Hardy was found guilty and everything with the fact that Goddell messed up big time with the Rice situation and had to do something. So he did.

you are 1000% correct. Regardless of whether Hardy is guilty or not, Goodell has royally fuged everything up.

Greg Hardy isn't sitting at home because he's awaiting trial.

He's sitting at home because the NFL was embarrassed over the mess they made with their poor handling of domestic violence issues.

Rather than actually hold anybody in the League office accountable, they want to keep Hardy out of sight and hope everybody forgets that he exists.

Until that changes, which it probably won't, I doubt there's anything done.

You hit the nail on the head there.

This is so stupid, why the hell is it so hard for Goodell to say, "Greg Hardy re-instated post 6 game ban, if found guilty, will be fined money made during exemption."

OVER, problem SOLVED.

Hardy in the public eye would serve as a reminder of the shi--y job they did handling the Ray Rice mess. They can't have that.

Right now, the League doesn't really give a rat's ass if they're being fair or not. They have to cover their asses.

Seriously, let the guy play. Let's assume that he IS guilty. He's sat the entire 6-game suspension period and then some. That suspension would notmally be unpaid. Have him pay in an amount equal to 6 games' salary, and put him on the field. When his trial is finally concluded, he gets the money back. This is going to be the closest thing possible to making the guy whole again.

And from Goddell's standpoint. It will look even worse if you keep him out all year, he loses his job over this, and he ends up being found not guilty.

The argument against that is the bed or couch covered in "automatic looking" weapons. The penalty is much worse if firearms are involved. Again there has been no evidence of the bed/couch full of guns but the media won't  care about that.  Bob Costas is loading his social conscience cannon as we speak.
