Stephen Hill needs to be in, or be out. Needs to belie the second overhaul, one way or another.

If he deserves a spot he will be called up.

Not likely.

Just like I expect Amini to start once he's healthy and send Norwell (who deserves a spot) back to the bench.

Now Norwell could slide over and replace Velasco but when Turner comes back I expect Norwell to be the odd man out.

I know it's a different situation but this coaching staff has a funny way of determining who deserves what.

My only qualm with that would be youth.  Avant had 2 drops on 1 drive, Cotch had the drop down the field that killed a drive, Bersin dropped a pass that ended up being intercepted, so I wouldn't really say they played well, they've just played better thusfar this season.  The big question is, if we are considering our season almost lost at this point, when do we make the official youth movement, aka, get Brown/Bersin/Hill more time at receiver, consider going with Norwell and Foucault when both the starters return, and on defense, make sure Boston/Norman/White all spend the rest of the season starting.  We may not make the playoffs, but honestly, I doubt we are anyway, so you might as well move toward the future.

Bersin is young but what is his ceiling? He's not very quick considering his youth. When a young man has to play an old man's game it doesn't bode well for their future. That Cotch drop is totally understandable. The guy took an incredible hit from both directions. I only remember 1 Avant drop but he seems to be our only WR that can run a WR screen.

He's not hurting us on the practice squad, literally zero reason to straight cut him.

He should probably try to move ahead on the depth chart a bit by taking advantage of the reps in practice he gets... which he hasn't done.

These two things right here...

Guy has one drop in 8 weeks and people want to cut him.

And people want to bring up a WR, known to literally drop the ball on things, to replace that man?

If Hill looked any better, he would be brought up. Just look at what they did with Lester.

My thing is if he doesn't look any better, then why waste the time?  Dude must really be a prolific camp body, slow learner, or just not cutting the mustard.  There has to be someone out there that we can get some mileage out of---or at least evaluate---before the season is lost.  And, if it's lost already then why not throw him out there to see what he will do in an actual game?

it doesn't even have to be a receiver per se.
