Stephen Hill needs to be in, or be out. Needs to belie the second overhaul, one way or another.

After last night's game and the lack of separation by our receiving corps, how do you justify not activating Stephen Hill?  I have to think that this big receiver who has been coached by Ricky Proehl for damned near two months has to be ready to go...unless something is just wrong.

The young stud came into the league with a bit of confidence, and I am sure that his stay in New York just didn't beat every ounce of swagger out of the kid.  Sure he had to be discouraged leaving there, not being picked up, and more than likely being broken down even more here, behind the scenes, to be built back up again into a cocky football player---a warrior that wants to show up for the Panthers and fight for his team on Sundays.  Surely this young man wasn't spoiled by being in Rex Ryan's and John idzik's circus to the point where he is afraid to become an integral part of the team, like the chicken poo Hakeem Nicks who is getting exactly what he deserves in Indianapolis on the Colts' bench.

He either gets it, or he doesn't.  This is his third year in the NFL.  I have seen glimpses of a lack of focus and running before you catch the ball which I trust have been fixed by now.  And if they haven't, then what's the point?  If Hill will never get the opportunity to play ahead of two old possession receivers, a young but hardworking JAG, and a small guy that no one will ever mistake for D-Jax or T.Y. Hilton, then what's the point? Either free Hill, or kill that dead horse now.  We need some speed (and separation, but I am not gonna hold my breath) in the worse kind of way. Sign him or release him so that panthers fans should get a sign that there is real hope, or perhaps replace him with someone like Da'Rick Rogers who Panthers fans can at least rest their imaginations upon.

No.

He catches even worse than benjamin.

No...? No...? "In" or "out" would have been a more appropriate answer.

I trust Proehl's evaluation more than yours on this matter. My problem is that he probably already has an answer that is effectively being delayed by Rivera running interference between Proel and G-man with his musings about loyalty.

There's no valid reason to bring him on the active roster. All you're doing is spouting about how you want to see change. it's the grass is always greener mentality. If he were good enough, he'd be on the active roster. You're projecting a lot of emotion and conjecture onto Stephen Hill just because you want a change to happen, any change at all, whether that be positive or negative. If it's positive you'll say I told you so, if it's negative you'll complain about it anyway.

He's obviously not good enough to be on the active roster right now. Whether that changes is yet to be seen, but demanding that he either be called up or cut right NOW doesn't make a lick of damn sense. Just because others have "clicked" by now doesn't mean he won't. It also could mean he never will. You say you trust Ptoehl's evaluation over mine, and I'm sure the coaches do too. If he were good enough he'd be on the roster. If he were too shitty, he wouldn't have a job.

So my answer to this thread is just: No.

We are running three receiver combos vs 5 DBs. I don't know what Stephen Hill is going to do with that. Just let him stay on the practice squad. I rather see Tiquan Underwood brought in at this point because he can run horizontally.

No Cam is just missing the throws, don't you know its his job to make sure they get open and then catch it for them

Normally I would have faith that the guys playing ahead of him are doing so because they are practicing better, however, since the current regime has proven on more than occasion they play their favorites instead of the best player I wouldn't be against giving him a shot. His hands of stone won't that out of place out there and who knows maybe he makes something happen.

Heres my feeling on the situation, Hill's biggest problem is his hands, and it's exactly why I've advocated for him to remain on the practice squad.  After last week though, there were a ton of drops, looked like Lafell was running every receiving route.  The REASON Avant and Cotch are on the team is because they are sure handed, well if they don't get their poo together, then IMO, one or both are expendable in favor of a young fast guy with infinitely more upside.
