Sorry for the crappy quality... but watch Norwell. Finishes his man, then takes on Foucault's man preventing a sack.

When have you ever seen Amini do that?

Can't believe this kid didn't get a chance sooner. If there's any take away from the OL dumpster fire, we may have found a new guard

I am concerned that RR plays favorites and is not a good evaluator of talent.  The way he promoted Bell and Chandler, for example, is one reason Gettlemen went G instead of T in the draft.

Looks to me like that's by design.  You see Kalil shade the inside shoulder so Norwell can take the center/right and help out Foucault.  It's like a moving wall with parts that shift towards where the defensive linemen are going.

Chandler handles his man one on one very well.  Fernando gets pushing right into Cam's lap.

All that being said I really love Norwell and do think he and Turner are our best guards and bode well for the future.

Stop. Gettleman's philosophy is BPA. What good value tackle was available in the 3rd round? None.

Where did you hear that?  One could have argued that we needed guards as badly if not worse than the tackle spot.  Turner was a great pick and it's much easier to find quality guards than tackles.  G-man did say that after the top 3-4 tackles there was no one that was better than what was already on our roster.

    • I genuinely don’t think there is a single Panthers fan who wants Bryce to fail. There’s a big difference between actively rooting for someone’s failure, and just observing the obvious. I didn’t personally think before the 2023 season “omg I hope Bryce fails I hate him” I was cautiously optimistic although admittedly skeptical because I had seen him play in college and he had a lot of red flags that seemed to be totally ignored in the draft process. But now? I don’t think he’s going to be the franchise QB for this team, he’s obviously too physically limited, but he might have a long career in the NFL as a backup and game manager. He’s just not the caliber of player who should have been taken #1 overall. He was wildly overhyped because he went to Alabama and the Panthers drank the proverbial kool ade. So long story short no, I don’t hope he fails, at this point I know he’s a failure relative to what the Panthers paid to get him.
    • His future is the next Jake from State Farm guy.  I imagine he's going to stay in the League for 3-4 more years and that's it.  Beyond his rookie contract he'll catch on some place else as a backup for a few years and then hang them up realizing he's never going to start again.
    • i didn’t say BY was the greatest QB, i said he was outplaying the two in the late game. BY played well, but not great. he missed some throws, and had some good throws dropped. he made some good decisions, and not really any bad ones. but if you want to cherry pick stats, ok, both QBs in the late game had multiple picks, 7 between them. BY had none. betterer, which is all i was claiming.
