We have a severe talent issue on the OL and secondary. Secondary can he masked and aided.

OL? As Gettlemen said OL allows you to compete. As weak as we are we can't mask it

Gettleman did nothing to address the Oline this offseason and he got rid of J Gross of all people,I'm starting to not like Gettleman!

Get Bell back and help him like we were helping the LT last night. 

Get Turner back.  Velasco was getting trucked a few times last night too.

Hell, put Foucault as a TE and line him up every play beside Chandler or Bell.  We go with 6 linemen (5 and one as a TE) on every play.

 

Run the crap out of the ball, heavy play action.  Have a lot of short pass plays and checkdowns.  The only time Cam should have the ball in his hand for more than 2 seconds is 1 out of every 10 plays when we use the play action.

 

The main things we need is more protection and a gameplan that gets rid of the ball very quickly.  That will ease pressure on the o-line and help Cam.

 

Run the dang hurry-up more often.  Cam needs to go with his instincts and play loose.  Hurry up doesn't allow him time to overthink crap.

 

Oh yea, and fire Shula.  Even if he's not the problem (which he is) it to the point now that everyone thinking he's the problem (including probably some of the players) is becoming another problem. The perception is that he is a horrible play caller and can not take advantage of Cam's talent.  That perception will hurt us just as bad as it also being a fact.

I would do nothing right now--not much you can do--maybe take a look at Silatolu at RT when he returns. I would keep playing Boston at S--looking at both positions--and I would play Ealy more.  Other than that, you have to remember we are still in the playoff hunt.   Never quit.

I like the idea of taking an extra OT as TE.  If anything just to help block.  Olsen is a good blocker, underrated for a lot of things, but I would put him in a split back position or H back position in hopes that he could find mismatches on defense and seams to break a play.

 

At QB, I would just let do what Cam Newton already does.  There is little hope to change Cam Newton.  I've said it a few times recently, he is uncoachable.

 

On defense i would not be afraid to stay the course.  The DB's, while awful, will either get better with reps or fail out.  Maybe your starting CB now will be a great dime back in 2 years.  Maybe your backup CB will be best used at SS in a year.
