Diggs for DT....

Considering Derrick Brooks is still looking for a job, I don't know what incentive anyone has to gice us anyone for Diggs. Doesn't mean I'm putting to on the same level, just saying...

i was kinda thinking the same thing. maybe him a 4th or 5th rounder and another player. would get us a quality DT

We did pretty good without him last year. And Duke Robinson might be able to step right in. We have to give up something of value to get something... I just think he'd be more appealing to other teams than Diggs, and he has some value at position we're pretty well off at.

If thoughts like this continue to pop into your head, please fight the voices. The voices are bad.

Player for player trades are rare and unlikely. I will keep saying that till it sinks in.

Tis true.

With that said, I'd rather see that happen than see us not picking until round 3 next year.

Diggs would make some sense, but given the choice I'd rather see Rosario traded. Of course, it all depends on the team with whom the trade was arranged and what they needed most.

Diggs is very possible. However I think we might see more of a "baseball" type of trade with a team that is in a rebuilding mode. Several younger guys that have some experience for a vet DT or a younger up and coming DT. I guessing that this thought process may be the same that Gantt has and why he is mentioning Dorsey. KC just lost Tony Gongales and they are switching to a 3-4 defense.

So lets say Rosorio (TE), Taylor (DE/OLB) and Wilson (CB) plus 4th round pick for Dorsey (DT) and a 5th or 6th round pick. Would they take that? I'm not sure but I could live with that.

Thats a deal al la Eric Mangini.....

Dont the Browns have a DT or two that want out??

Fox was "all in" last year, 12-4, a wind gust away from home field advantage and a letdown in the end. At this point, there should be a BIG move to plug the middle in light of losing Kemo. Every fan should be counting on that. If it doesn't happen and the season goes South, then no position is safe for 2010, from QB to GM. A ball control offense needs to stop the run.

Instead of speculating about who might be traded for a DT, why not consider who might be cut or restructured so we could afford one. No one's going to give a veteran DT up for a player unless that player is really good. Particularly when teams will be able to get capable veterans off the scrap heap for free over the next few weeks.

If we convinced Cleveland to part ways with Williams, it will be for a 4th or 5th and then we'll have to cut someone to make room for his cap figure. Given how Connors played Monday night, Diggs and Johnson better step up their games.

But Diggs has always struck me as the guy on whatever team he is on that everyone doesn't want. Because I've always felt that way about him. Green Bay was looking to get rid of him every year, or at least their fans and so are ours. No one wants him unless they can sign him to a vet min. and don't have to give anything up. Diggs is a "stop-gap" guy.

Stop gap guys aren't 9 year starters. He's a very solid player, but of course fans want superstars at every position.

Good post.

Every year people talk about upgrading Diggs, every year no one beats him out and every year he has a good season.

He's not a superstar, but he's very solid and cheap.

Unless someone just blows him away in camp or he loses a step, keep him there.

Or holds good enough trade value for a good DT.
