Sorry to burst your bubble, but KB may not be a WR1

top dawg

Hate to bring it up but ill be that asshole who does it, it would be a lot easier for him if he wasn't relied on so heavily...........maybe if smith was here he could relieve some of the pressure, hell someone opposite making plays would help a lot, Olsen has either been taken out of the game by opposing defenses or just not used.

bottom line it would have benefit KB playing in the number 2 position for a year as he adjusted to the league, he is still doing a hell of a job being the only wr worth a damn, out playing 10 year vets

Well, I really already mentioned that in the OP.

Yeah blame the rookie WR. You see Brees making throws to a shorter rookie WR. I mean he was open on the first play down the field, Newton overthrew him. Newton throws the ball like he's pitching a baseball, that's hard for receivers to catch all the time.

I mentioned Cam, play calling, unrealistic expectations, and perhaps having an unfair burden, so I am not blaming Benjamin as much as I am saying that we had better get someone else in here with WR1 talent to bear the load and make the big picture clearer.

Let's forget the route tree. Let's forget the effort when the ball isn't going to him. Let's forget the holding penalties. All of that can be coached. Why is he dropping touchdowns? All he talks about is making plays and he's dropping touchdowns. Is that something he's going to learn? It's one thing to say "oh well he tried to run before he had the ball". All he needed to do was make the catch. That's it. He did all the other work.

That is concerning to me. At worst I think he's a good starter for us. But you can't call him a super star if he continues to drop touchdowns.

We have enough options to bear the load with Greg, Cotchery and KB. I've seen it a couple of times where everyone tends to blame oline, supporting cast etc but not the QB. At a certain point, people have to hold the QB accountable. I mean we see Lafell in NE and Smith in MD.

I love Cam. I love KB. But I have started threads tonight critical of both.  But I am not going to poo poo the bad play of the O-line because I do believe that the core problem with Cam is lack of protection.  I believe that right on top of that is the bad play calling that fails to compensate for the bad play of the O-line, and/or adapt to the situation at hand.  And right on top of that is trying to play offense with a broken wing.  I believe we absolutely need that other threat at WR.  I believe that all these things work in tandem.  If Cam can set his feet and make a throw to at least a couple of options that opposing defenses have to at least consistently respect---if not outright fear, then that will go a long way to fixing our offensive woes.

I don't know how people expect for us to go to battle with teams that have a more complete WR corps, when we effectively have a WR corps full of possession receivers---one a giant, and one a midget (yes, Philly Brown has played more like a possession guy. *see Steeler blowout)

I watched this game tonight and saw a lot of bad decisions by Cam. I mean people always say Shula does not have outlets on play calls but replays showed at least on one play players open but Cam forces it to KB.

I was watching the SEA game and on one play,  Cam chose to go to KB (who he overthrew) instead of a wide open Greg. Usually when people are blaming multiple aspects of an offense its time to take a look at the QB play.

So...what's the solution?  You ready to give up on Cam?  I am not gonna flame you (someone else might), I am just asking.

Oh nah, I'm saying the coaches should concentrate on coaching him up in practice. Let him throw balls with air underneath as opposed to the flat balls. Bring out the trash cans like Shula did last season. Get back to the fundamentals.
