Just a small observation I believe some of you may have seen as well?

I couldn't watch the game tonight, and that's probably a good thing. It's clear Cam had a bad game, and it's crystal clear our offense is broken and the entire team seems to lack in confidence at this point.

But to all of you saying Cam has always been what he was tonight, that's total bs.

Everyone of us that watches the games have seen Cam make every throw. We've seen him be deadly accurate when given time in the pocket. We've seen him put touch on throws, we've seen him throw receivers open, we've seen him throw back shoulder fades and perfect deep balls.

He also was throwing the ball better early this year than he had at any point previously and even his detractors were talking about how he was scanning the field and carving up defenses.

So the question we should be asking is, what happened? Why the dramatic and sudden regression? Answer that and we're getting somewhere.

To me, the answer is he is still a young QB that is going to have crap games mixed in with great games as he continues to develop

We fans are not great when it comes to patience, but that is just the way it goes.

Today was an exceptionally bad day, we just have to figure out what went wrong.

He has shown he has the ability but something was not right today

Honestly I am still in a daze from that shitshow.

I was going to post a longer explanation, and then I just completely gave up.

That is where I am at right now. All I could muster was a "I disagree" response.

You like Byron Bell trying to block  in the 4th quarter lol. I'm feeling fatigue from this season too.

Signing Cam to a long term mega contract will be the biggest mistake this organization has made and you can quote this post.. There is 0 reason to justify Cam getting a big contract. He has regressed immensely and I see no point whatsoever into signing him to a mega deal, it will do absolutely nothing to help this team become a perrenial contender.

We sign him to a mega deal, have no money to sign gooc players and we just end up with multiple losing seasons. Dont ask me who we replace him with, I couldnt tell you, all I know is if you want multiple losing seasons, give Cam a $100 million plus contract.

When we extended Stewie I bashed the move and got railed for it. This will be same thing

Yep, people need to go back and look at Cams rookie yeah. His long balls was on the money.

People keep saying we are running the same offense we did his rookie year, but we are not.

And teams are taking advantage of this o-line making it very difficult on this offense.

I was watching today at the game, and teams are playing mostly single high safety defense and putting everyone around the short routes.

And we are having trouble exploiting it. Whenever we try to take a deep drop Cam is getting pressured.

The linebackers are barely reacting to play action because our o-line is getting pushed into the backfield by d-line.

It is frustrating to watch and it is easy to blame Shula, but I don't know what we can do differently.

There is an answer somewhere. But I don't see it

We were running the ball well. Why didn't we lean on that more? That cute read option stuff doesn't work in the pros. Guys are too good. You gotta line up and hit em in the mouth. That screen to DLo got yards what about that? Dink and dunk up the field and run until you can go vertical. Things I see

Cam looked like a young Cam tonight. Sloppy footwork. Trying to push throws down the field instead of hitting the open guy. It honestly comes across as if he's just pressing.

Toss that in with the rest of the offense being a circus act from coaching on down and you have what we have.

The answer is that all the coaching he's received and all the progress he's made is getting beaten out of him on a weekly basis.

And realistically, there are few if any options available to fix that situation this season.

It's a real quandary now. You could say 'sit him to protect him' but then you likely sacrifice the rest of the season (and probably some coaching jobs) so it's highly unlikely anyone signs on for that.

But if you keep trotting him out there behind the blockers we have now you risk beating him down even worse or outright injuring him, maybe even severely.

So what do you do?

Simply put, Cam does not fit into this offensive system. He is a natural gun slinger and we truly should be running a Green Bay/Bronco type of offense to best utilize his abilities. I know some of yall will say he doesn't have the touch or the pocket presence to be a good QB in that type of system but I know for a fact he is not a under the center/drop back 7 yards and step up into an ABYSMAL pocket QB.
