Just a small observation I believe some of you may have seen as well?

To be fair, Shula made a great quarterback coach.

Offensive coordinator, though?

I don't think he did. Who was his star Pupil before Cam? David Gerrard?

Cam had a terrific rookie season because the offense catered to his athletic gifts and he had two sure handed tight ends.

There are certain things he still needs to work on. Veteran QB things. We played a lot of great QBs this year. Imagine if he had Rogers hard count. Or Big Ben's pump fake. How about Flacco's touch?

You saw Drew Brees do these little veteran things today, even something as simple as throwing it into the end zone with 10 seconds left, he was hoping for a call and he got it.

These are just subtle little things vets do to steal first downs from a defense. Cam steals his first downs head first.

I'd love to see Cam develop those little tools. I can't tell you when I even saw him try a pump fake.

Oh, I think Shula did him plenty of good.

Probably would be better if he were still in that spot.

His throwing rockets when he ought to be throwing softballs is actually also a product of him constantly being under pressure.

Sorry, other great QBs can make the throw with hands in their face: Brees, Brady, Manning, Rivers, Romo, etc. Cam just isn't that kind of QB. If we don't design our game to fit his skill set it will never work here. He played the EXACT same way at Auburn. Runs, chucks, and zips. He has zero finesse. He's a lot like Vick. And we see where Vick is now. If they don't build an offense around Cam, instead of trying to reprogram Cam, this team will never win. Funny how his best games where when we "let Cam be Cam".

Cam's arms strength. I believe is his greatest strength yet at the same time his bigges weakness.

Cam has no touch. He doesn't put air under his throws. That's the missing piece to him. There were so many throws that I saw in this game that if he would have added a bit of touch, this game would have been 31-28. Other times he rifles his throws in that receivers can't get a good shot.

There were two KB end zone incomplete catches that should have been TD's. One where it should have been an over the shoulder fade, he threw right at the defender, like he was trying to gun that throw in there. The other one was a middle of the end zone throw where if he would have thrown it ahead of Benjamin, doesn't matter how fast really, instead of high and over his head without proper time to adjust, could have been a TD.

What's the root cause of these errant throws? He hasn't been the best passer, his stance was mediocre, his footwork as well. Which we all knew he was in his Auburn days. Now, we know that it was because of his foot injury that was repaired. Well, was it because of that?

His foot has been repaired, he is still throwing a 6'5 35" long armed, 240 pound mammoth of man with hands the size of bear paws. I am not sure what to make of this. It could be his rhythm. He was off all night, we know he has off nights. But tonight was one of his worse.

I can't say the next game will be a win. We all know how this team is after a bye week, since essentially they don't play until November 10th. Which is almost a bye week. Things are looking bleak. I can't say I am optimistic at this moment in time. This game was too important to lose, scratch that, the past three weeks it has been. I'm having flashbacks of 2011. Except we are getting blown out. I won't go into draft talk just yet, but I am becoming numb after this mediocre performance.

Brett favre had the same issue. He even bruised receivers hand. Idk how he fixed it but our organization needs to figure it out.

Said it before.  It's a cumulative effect.

What progress they had made with him is getting erased.

All of those QBs have had either good offensive minded head coaches or good OCs. We don't have either and Cam needs one to get to that level.

I disagree. He can throw different type of passes and velocities.

Not nearly as consistent as he should be. I realize that this may have several root causes. Playing style, arm stregth, momentum of the game, Cams mood. But unfortunately he's been throwing laser rockets when he needs to let that pigskin float into their hands. Several times he has had a wide open receiver and instead of hitting them in stride he lightning bolts that pass in a hurry not giving receivers a chance to catch that bolt. It's almost impossible.

I agree I have seen him make some beautiful throws in stride with touch. Far in between though. He's also not going to his bread and butter as often as he used to.

Part of the problem is the play calling as well.

Honestly I am still in a daze from that shitshow.

I was going to post a longer explanation, and then I just completely gave up.

That is where I am at right now. All I could muster was a "I disagree" response.

I couldn't watch the game tonight, and that's probably a good thing. It's clear Cam had a bad game, and it's crystal clear our offense is broken and the entire team seems to lack in confidence at this point.

But to all of you saying Cam has always been what he was tonight, that's total bs.

Everyone of us that watches the games have seen Cam make every throw. We've seen him be deadly accurate when given time in the pocket. We've seen him put touch on throws, we've seen him throw receivers open, we've seen him throw back shoulder fades and perfect deep balls.

He also was throwing the ball better early this year than he had at any point previously and even his detractors were talking about how he was scanning the field and carving up defenses.

So the question we should be asking is, what happened? Why the dramatic and sudden regression? Answer that and we're getting somewhere.
