Of course, I still expect the Panthers to go after another DT, but I'm at least encouraged that we have a better option than Nick Hayden.

Of all our tackles, he is the most likely to have any success in replacing Kemo. That being said, we really need to look outside and continue to develop Favorite, who very well could turn out to be a good player in this league.

Yeah, I posted that up the second it was revealed that Kemo was done for the year. I told everyone not to sleep on him, I'm a die hard LSU fan and I watched the guy play for 4 years, he definitely has game, and he definitely has potential. I guess since my name isn't Zod no one paid attention I've enclosed what I originally said just to prove I'm not full of poppycock.

#2 Out of all those options I would prefer Walker coming back, he isn't horrible and knows the system and may give us a discount.

Being a die hard LSU fan, I urge Panther fans not to sleep on Marlon Favorite, I watched him for the last few years in every LSU game and the guy can stop the run, now whether or not his talent will translate to the NFL as quickly as we would need it to remains to be seen...he does have talent, but at times with LSU he seemed to lack motivation, now he has all the motivation he needs to prove himself and earn a spot. He seems like the kind of player that could either be cut by the end of the preseason, or really show up and be a nice surprise for us. I hope it's the latter...

Although, surprisingly enough...I feel ok if we don't sign anyone, I think Meeks philosophy and his "swarm the ball" style are really gonna cater to our players and I'm sure out of all the defensive linemen we have, at least ONE of them has to possess the talent to step up and make some plays on a consistent basis.

I'd also like to declare that after last night, I'm no longer of the opinion that we'll be ok with what we have.

Favorite and Irvin looked pretty decent last night. I could honestly say I would only keep them and cut the rest of the DT's. I would keep Lewis but my patience is waring thin on him, he's ok but without a Kemo caliber DT next to him he's just going to get taken out of plays. If I were Hurney I do everything possible to get us a good DT with some potential. Get Corey Williams and pick up one of the Titans or Giants cuts and I think we could have something.
