OL was decent but then turned awful, but yeah Newton has been off even on some plays where he's had time.

 

Being under constant pressure can really mess a QB up.  They start to feel it even when it's not there.

 

Oline was probably demoralized by all the throws he missed when he had time.

When we played our prime time game against the Steelers, Rivera was questioned in his presser what he likes least about primetime games, his response?! "Well for starters you miss dinner and its just out of routine." Yep, thats our HC!

The O is a combination of a bunch of things. Namely the o line is horrid and there are no WR other than Benjamin. Playcalling is abysmal and add to that Cam playing like poo tonight and you get the mess we see in the first half.

 

If DA came in you can bet you would see some 3 step drops and passes coming out quickly. Why they don't try that with Cam is beyond me. You know the line is not going to hold up for slow developing routes.

Cam homers may not like this, but I don't give a fugg. I am a panthers fan and I am sick of this. I wanna win. Here is some constructive criticism for Cam. His 4th year in the league

1. Bad footwork = inacurate throws

2. Bad pocket presence = panicking at the 1st sign of presure and bailing out of the pocket doesn't necessarily mean the pass protection is bad. You need to step up into the pocket. You need to use your feet, slide left/right and extend plays within the pocket

3. Work on the deep balls

Can't keep blaming everyone else. Cam needs to step up and play like a freaking franchise qb and not like he has been.

 

I agree in part.

 

His being behind a swiss cheese line is what's making him this way.

 

The Texans ruined David Carr like this.  I'm starting to worry this will affect Newton long term too.

During the Steelers game, they were talking about how Todd Haley had installed a lot of quick pass plays to get the ball out of Rothlisbergers hands so he wouldn't keep getting pummeled. Hello.....Shula, anybody home!?

Im kinda glad karma biting us right in the ass cause we haven't been right since the NFL put him on that list. Hope this is a blessing to get a head coach thats has an offensive mind or some experience on both sides of the ball other than just being a fuging defensive coordinator

None of that has anything to do with Ron letting Cam drop back inside his own 5 yard line on 3rd and long. Nor give the Saints the ball back with plenty of time on the clock. Sometimes you play defense with ball control. Specifically in high risk, low reward situations.

 

That again I can say is QB play. That pass to Avant on the sideline was a flat ball hence the pass breakup. If it goes over the underneath lineman and closer to Avant, he makes the catch. you can even see Avant would have probably had to come back to the ball to make the catch.
