Chad Ford SPECULATION: Hornets Could Be Interested In Kobe

regardless I'm pretty sure kobe doesn't think he can win a title in charlotte for 1, & 2 I doubt our front office wants to pay his 25mil he's due

Don't confuse what I said.

Bringing in Kobe would be the worst thing the Hornets could possibly do.  We have absolutely no reason to even think about entertaining that idea, and if we brought him in dude would be booed....me included.

I'm just saying the dude would probably reconsider waiving his no trade clause to go to a team like NY.

why NY? To get their asses whooped by Cleveland or Chicago? Probably Even by Charlotte ;) ? I don't see kobe winning a title anywhere any more as a "main piece".

Triangle offense and Phil Jackson.  Kobe could possibly make that team better given his understanding of the offense, and considering Derek Fisher is the coach.

It makes no sense for anY team to give up major assets for Kobe.

The Lakers made their bed with that stupid extension they have to live with it.

Kobe isn't going anywhere because he has little trade value for any team. If he gets traded Lakers would be the ones giving up draft picks, not the other team

I would love to have Kobe here. I believe that the man can still ball at a high level for at least 2 more years if healthy. Y'all can't lie that y'all don't want him here. His jersey would be the no1 selling jersey by lunch time if he was traded to CLT right now.

The only problem is that ridiculous contract. Maybe, now we saw why the Lakers made that move. Giving him a huge contract so they get something large in return. Not likely unless a team is giving back bad contracts.

The Lakers would be pleased if we were interested. We have so many young assets that could help turn that franchise around in a couple years: MKG, Vonleh, Hairston, Zeller, etc. No way would I give those guys just to have Kobe for 1-2 yrs.

Like Teeray said above, LA would have to give a lot of draft picks for a team to take Kobe's contract.

Can't knock him for taking the money, but this is karma catching up to him. Dissed us back in the day for LA, now LA sucks, he most likely will want out, and we're on the way up.

The issue is, the Lakers are going to want value for him, so any team that would try to trade for him would basically have to give up the pieces thst make them a playoff team to get him, and essentially it would make them what the Lakers are now... Kobe and filler.

If the Lakers would take a Steve Nash type deal like they worked for him to get him from the Suns, then teams might consider.

His best bet is staying with them and hoping they hit on their picks, because with that cap number it's the only way a team can add pieces around it. Problem is, he doesn't have enough time left in his career for that to come together.

So basically, what I'm saying is, Kobe is f***ed! HA!
