Has Amini ever played tackle except maybe in high school? I don't know. They act like you can just throw anyone in there without experience at the position. I cant imagine throwing him in there without a training camp and a preseason behind him.

Because they had all offseason to try to find an answer or at least a stop gap at tackle. The fact that we're in panic mode now because Bell got hurt is not good. You can't go into a season assuming everyone will stay healthy. I know Gary Williams went down, and we lost the guy from our PS to the Seahawks, but we didn't have to wait until this week to backfill. So now we're left with Remmers on a couple of days of practice should we suffer an injury tomorrow night.

 

Either they think we can just throw anyone out there and be okay or they were just hoping and praying they got lucky.

Amini at tackle is a joke. He doesn't have the IQ and does not have anywhere near the technique to be a NFL tackle. Better than Bell or Chandler? Well it would be challenge to be any worse.

I'm not necessarily talking about FA's. We knew going into the year we were on thin ice at tackle. At minimum, especially when G. Williams went down, we should have at least kept a couple of prospects on the PS to give them some time practicing with the team.

 

It honestly looks like their plan was just to throw bodies out there for this season and hope for the best.

I don't get paid millions of dollars to make sure the most important player on the team doesn't get killed. Gettleman does. Don't really matter WHO, but SOMEBODY out there was better than Bell.

Rivera and Gettlemen spent hours sifting through all the defensive tackles on madden to see if there was one who's blocker rating was high enough to converter them to LT. However things didn't work out so here we are.
