Toxic differentias

Recommended Posts

Saw this on NFL.com and the Bills board I frequent.  Thought you guys might learn a little bit about football from it.  At the least generate some football discussion heading in to the Thursday night game.

Panthers

Takeaway  14

Giveaway  10

Difference +4

Explosive Plays 27

Explosive Plays allowed 33

Difference -6

Toxic Difference -2

It has long been a proven adage that if you have a plus-2 turnover advantage on your opponent, you will win the game 80 percent of the time. If you have a plus-2 explosive-play advantage, it equally leads to winning about 80 percent of the time. If you have both of those, you win close to 95 percent of the time. You'd be hard-pressed to find any controllable statistical combination that has quite the same rate of predictive success.

Saints

Takeaway  7

Difference -6

Explosive Plays 29

Explosive Plays allowed 31

Difference -2

Toxic Difference -8

lol the bills have to make up a stat called "toxic differentias" to be on top of any list that doesn't involve losing games or multiple back to back superbowls

Did you even read the article?  Do you even know what the stat is or the history of it in the league?  Do you even realize that you sound like a moron bringing up the Bills in to this discussion?  What do the Bills have to do with this?  Yes, the word Bills is in the title.  Are you that much of a moron that you only saw that and did not bother reading further down?  And, what exactly do the "back to back" Super Bowl losses matter?  Especially, when they were back to back to back to back losses?

What you said added nothing to this.  The Bills do have a better record then the Panthers - does that make you sad?  Of course, I had told everyone here that the Bills would finish the season with a better record, but hey, lets not bring that up, mm'k?  Because what matters more is 20 years ago.

So, our toxic difference is better than theirs. Seems like we all should witness a W tomorrow night then.

That will put us at 4-4-1 and in the drivers seat for the Division title. Tomorrow nights game should be a playoff atmosphere almost it would seem

This is a must win for us, and in Prime Time

The Falcons toxic differential makes this stat null and void.

I think if you compare this stat and these numbers to the overall defense you get a better perspective.  Then include the running ability.

Atlanta is ranked 31st on D and 26th at rushing.  These numbers combine to show that Atlanta has a lot of problems and is not a good team.

the bills are conveniently at the top of this list that you posted with the advice to "learn something about football" which coincides with that buffalo bills username and that buffalo bills avatar. i'm sure it's all just a coincidence though.

Ooooo, that was downright mean, PhillyB.  SMH with a grin.

It's not mean, it's moronic.  And all the fanboy fine young males who like to give pie to posts are just as retarded.

It's also ironic, because the very thing that many of you complain about - Cowboys and Steelers fans, among others, pointing to their past as relevant.  Captain Obvious points this out and yet, here is the douchebag pointing to 20 years ago.

Well, I guess he's afraid to look at right now.  I guess he's afraid to see the Panthers have a losing record and he wants to sulk in the misery that is so popular here.  It drives me nuts to think of how good your football team is, how much talent the roster has to build upon and everyone here just cries about nonsense.  Every team has growing pains.  Shut up and be patient, this team is good.

This has nothing to do with the Bills.  Hell, I'd not even have posted it if it came from Bleacher Report or some other make believe site.  But, this is from NFL.com and a reputable stat from a known author.

The whole pie thing is just stupid - as dumb as the "like" on failbook.

And you've not been around here enough to know that I use that as a schtick?

Wow, dude.

Take a chill pill.   This is the Internet.  This is a football message board.   It is  not  that  serious.  No one attacked you personally, OK.  Have some pie.

Anyone who reads any posts on here is attacked personally. It's a personal attack on anyone's intelligence level to read 80% of this garbage, but yet, here we all are refreshing the Huddle and posting anytime there's a free second in our busy lives.

It's much like 2 girls, one cup. You know what's going to happen, yet strangely, you can't look away until it's too late.

    • He's turned into quite a gunslinger
    • Hey guys, remember when we won those meaningless games in 2010 and it cost us the #1 pick and the chance to draft Cam? Oh.... right I get that's more of an extreme example because it got us a HOF caliber QB.  But it's the general concept, you want to win late season games when you have the pieces in place to make a run the next season, we currently are not in that place. Herbert and Sewell are the ones I point to so much, because we literally lost out on 2 franchise different makers by 1 draft slot.  Give us those two players while we still have CMC, Moore, and the rest of the picks we gave up for Bryce, and we'd have been a legit playoff contender the last few years. Draft position matters in the NFL more than any other sport (other than the #1 pick in the NBA in a year with a generational talent).
    • It’s so crazy. If we had a shot for pick 1 and there was some generational player there then yeah maybe I could get behind the draft position argument. I’d say most GMs and coaches aren’t diving into the draft right now. They are trying to win games.
