Wowser bowser.  Well maybe they surprise us all.

People remember the dozen or so times Bell has screwed up but he's started every game this season and played almost every snap.  He held up very well for 90% of those plays.  He doesn't get beat every time he lines up.  He's not nearly as bad as people think.  He's played well enough for us to win some games.

 

Well no offensive lineman gets beat every time they line up.  As a matter of fact, OL win the majority of their battles when they line up.  It is the nature of the game.  Bell does, however, get beat far more than 90% (to be generous) of other OTs in the NFL.  He is an awful player.

Would it not make sense to just put a sixth OL on the line in the #2 TE spot?  I realize that would be taking a weapon away, but it should help give Cam a little more time.

 

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing some empty gun sets with the following formation:

 

6 down lineman (one rotated in at Ed Dickson's spot to help on the left side)

Cam at QB

Olsen at TE1

KB at WR1

Cotchery at WR2

Bersin in the Slot (or a RB beside Cam)
