From 2011 to 2013 he averaged 90 catches for about 1100 yards and 12 TDs. Damn good for a receiver or tight end. He's fought through injuries in 2012 and 2013 as well.

 

That's very good.  Not elite.  Last year he was 15th in yards, led the league in TDs.  The year before, 22nd and 11th.  That's very good, not elite.  Unless we're only comparing him to TEs.  Which is how it should be done, since he's a TE.

He was hurt for a lot of 2012. That's why his number were down. Injuries aren't an excuse. But look at 2011 and 2013. The guys an elite talent. I'm not arguing that he's a receiver, by the way.

I agree he's an elite talent.  He is the best TE in the game.  That's elite.  Only challenger to that title is Gronk, he would be the best if he could stay healthy.  But he can't, so he isn't.
