Kemba and Hornets agree to 4 years/$48 million extension

I seriously believe that the Hornets could be hosting the Larry O'Brien in the next 3-5 years.

In order for this to happen, our draft picks which have been very high in recent years, HAVE to be impact players. So far it's Kemba and MKG. Zeller is a rotational player, Biz is a bust, and Hairston and Vonleh haven't played. In Vonleh's case, I doubt he will play at any time this season barring injuries to the depth chart in front of him.

In the next 3-5 years, assuming everything goes well, I think you're looking at the new Pacers; a young, defense-first team with a bunch of guys that play hard every night with chips on their shoulders. The questionwill be is that enough to get over the Chicagos and Clevelands going forward?

Once the cap rises (in two years) we'll be able to add the final pieces to the puzzle.

I also think that Vonleh and Hairston will have developed in three years (just look how far MKG and Zeller have come in two and three years respectively).
