I feel Kelvin is kidding about this. It is hard for me to believe a player would tank his 40 time,thereby costing himself a large sum of money. However,if that was the actual case,i'm certainly glad we were able to obtain him.

Yeah, his combine 40 was not what he thought he was capable of and he made a joke out of it. Pretty clever if you ask me.

As much as i'd like to believe it, there is no way that this is true. I Think he would have been drafted instead of Mike Evans if he had ran a 4.41 at the combine. Benjamin Received roughly a 7.5 million dollar contract while Evans received twice that amount. In the NFL there is no guarantee that you'll ever get to a second contract so i seriously doubt that Benjamin would leave that amount of money on the table just to play with Cam.

What's crazy is the people that were bagging on him because he "purposely" fell in the draft.

One part of the story could be true though, I definitely think he wanted to play here.

Was this by the ESPN beat reporter for the Panthers?

 

We have Mike Rodak in Buffalo and he has generated some of the weakest stories imaginable.  He created story lines that Watkins did not like Manuel, Mike Williams showed up late to a game when in fact he was just in the parking lot going to the field house to get extra pads, also the genius statement that a journeyman 2 yr DE is taking snaps from Mario Williams.

Back when Pat Y was covering the whole division the content was absolutely terrible. Since Newton took the Panthers it's been improved. He's obviously not totally invested in the sport of football, being a nascar guy, but his stuff isn't completely incredulous like Pat's was. This year he's already seeming jaded though, lol. Hasn't been covering the Panthers enough to learn to endure the Panther Ways.
