"Greg Olsen is our number one WR." Yeah. That was a problem vs Packers.

We need a #1 WR that can consistently catch. My biggest hangup on Benji in the offseason was the droppsies. He hasn't done anything to prove me wrong... Too many mental /concentration drops. That has nothing to do with being a rookie.

He's still a monster, I'm just starting to get annoyed.

I alluded to the fact in a thread last week that I don't even know that KB is a true WR1.  He certainly isn't the typical WR1.  Sure he has beastly potential, but he needs that rock solid consistency which he has yet to display when it counts.  I would like to believe that this will come with more experience, so I am going to reserve the right to believe that his drops are due to his rookie status (even if I may be fooling myself).

If you were to ask Greg, he would probably tell you that he's not going to catch 8 balls for 100 yards every game... getting "shut down" happens to the best of the best. I agree that we need someone opposite Benji, but you can't expect fantasy numbers from guys every single game.

I agree.

He is only a 1 because of the team he is on.

He seems like a possession wr at the moment. Don't get me wrong. He has shown flashes.

But he doesn't catch many on the run or have great yac. With time that should improve.

A speedy slot wr or change of pace back ala Sproles would do wonders for this team.

Sure. I love Olsen as much as the next guy (and there's a lot to love), but this thread is by no means meant as an indictment on Olsen. It's about our FO's now longstanding refusal to keep two threats at WR on the field.

Just think about it.  If KB goes down, then what in the hell is our offense gonna do?  That is not a way to manage a receiving corps in my opinion, and we have been doing it for years.

LaMichael James and LaRod Stephens-Howling (aka The Hyphen) are still out there.  Not to mention that we could probably offer one of those 7ths we have for Denarius Moore and put him on the outside with Cotchery in the slot.  If I were the GM and wanted to see if I could right the ship offensively for this season, these are the type moves that I'd consider (well that, and demote Shula).

Hell, it doesn't matter how many weapons we have. We got coaches who don't know how to use them.

Exactly our whole offensive scheme sucks. Got a top 5 TE don't throw it to him keep him in to block cause the line sucks(that ain't his strong suit) huge receiver don't throw it to him in the redzone and then just throw it to him a handful of times. If you got a stud horse you feed him

Shula thrives and barely survives on other occasions implementing that offensive philosophy of his, which is highly predicated off of the playmaking ability of our oL,unfortunately,OG had to become more of a blocking TE than a receiving TE,yesterday,in Shulas offense?
